From mobs -it's free money. What's there to hate.

From nodes - the value-less items added in recent patch should only appear as pick-up-able items in the world, for immersion, but not in containers(effectively reducing the chance you get something useful). Btw, i believe i read a dev post somewhere that the items appearing in containers is a bug.

I think the OP made a mistake when adding the poll, hence I am not going to pick one of the options - the white gear from containers is different to white gear from enemies.

From an enemy - perfectly good for deconstructing or selling.
    Like.

From a container - this is just the same as the stuff you can pick up in Bethesda games. It's actually useful at low levels when you have unused armour slots, otherwise it is just 'colour'. You need to pause to consider whether it is worth carrying (exactly the same as other elder scrolls games). The 'pick up everything' approach has always led to inventory issues.
Like is a strong word ... I don't dislike it, it's there for a reason (to test your impulse control maybe >:) !)

No idea why, when they come from mobs you can decon them or sell them, or even sometimes get traits from them.

    - If you are referring to the 0 value white loot then, yes, I could do without them.
    - If you are referring to the white loot with value and traits then, no, I do not mind them with regular mobs, but it's a bit odd to receive it from bosses.

I can't be bothered to experience content anymore. Just level grind to 50, skip all content, then the main quest/coldharbour rush to craglorn.

no desire to face bosses or anything else.

Depends what you mean by white gear. If you mean the horrible 0 gold white weapons and armour from backpacks and laying around the world I hate them as they are worthless. But love the white items with value that you can sell or deconstruct or upgrade if you want.

@Azzuria was talking about new characters escaping from coldharbour for the first time, who usually only have a few pieces of armour with most of the slots empty. To those people, the free armour is useful.

Personally, I don't mind the white drops, however

I would have them worth at least a couple of gold
I would move up the recovery rate (when deconstructing them) a bit

I love it and think its awesome!!!
I love this addition to the game for a few reasons:

    1. Its a small feature that helps this game feel more like an Elder Scrolls game.
    2. These items ARE useful. They can be broken down at crafting stations or simply improved upon.

    Why are these things important?

This game isn't your normal MMO and can not be treated that way. This is an Elder Scrolls game first, and an MMO second.

Why? Simply put, because you can make anything an MMO but for it to feel like the series it derives its name from, you need to put certain mechanics in the world to flesh out that feeling for the player.

Small things make a game an "Elder Scrolls" title. One of these small, but very important features is an highly interactive environment. Couple that along with the feeling of total freedom to either discard, use, upgrade or break down the item into its basic parts, only to turn around around use that raw material to make a better piece of gear, is an extremely rewarding and very "Elder Scrolls" feature to this MMO.

I immensely dislike the gear that is dropped in barrels, urns, etc that is white and has ZERO gold and crazy minimal XP value (for deacon).

I can only hope this a serves a purpose for the upcoming justice system?. Please ZOS, as Patrick Stewart would say "Make it so".

(Also, please bring back Patrick Stewart as a voice. Dumbledore is pretty neat, but I can't think I'd be the only once to cream my pants should Sir Patrick make an appearance. Even the boys could agree on that).

They should be limited to window dressing: tables (on top of,) racks and room decor. I don't want to see them in containers like: baskets desks, nightstands, crates, etc...

I like it for the cosmetic effect, though sometimes it can be annoying when you go to loot something and pick up the scenery instead! XD

One thing I noticed though, is that there seems to be a small chance that those worthless items will be blue, which at least gives you the chance to break them down for worthwhile mats.

You guys realize these useless items don't drop from enemies, right? The white items found in drops can be sold for gold, whereas the useless junk in nodes and around town are worthless. They aren't contaminating your mob loot, so if you're really that upset over a few extra items in containers (that really aren't even that common), perhaps you should take a step back and calm down.

I would think that the concept was that you get gear that cant inflate the gold supply but could be used for crafting skillups. But they nerfed decon on it too much.
edit: that said, if they made it good for decon Id change my vote.
edit2: and yea Im talking about the stuff with no sell value. Regular whites are great as cash vendor trash.

I like it from enemies, vendor trash for money. From nodes I'd like it to sell better, or at least mark it as 'stolen' and let us fence it for a reduced amount.

At the end of every night of raiding/questing I would go into the clothier/armorer in Vulkhel Guard and strip them of every piece of it. Wasn't but a short week and I finished leveling both clothing and blacksmithing without crafting a single piece of gear. Not every piece you find is worthless. Several times I pulled greens off the mannequins. Damn Imperial luck!!

I actually don't care one way or another. As a newly hatched vestige it is undoubtedly useful but the other option said I could care less and that means that I could care more and I couldn't so you should have said I couldn't care less. There's a Weird Al youtube video going around that touches on that point briefly.
