You seriously want players jumping off a pillar over and over trying to aim at something and dying over and over? I watched countless people unable to get that aimed. Ok, fine. But to force your players to take death penalty (armor off or not) for something you designed to tick-off players? Or is this just another bug being thrown into our faces?
I'm really trying to enjoy your game but I don't see the point in doing a quest this poorly designed/broken. "Oh it's intended to work that way" If that's your response (which I believe it would be) you certainly know how to break the games immersion with this quest.
I keep telling myself "it'll get fixed...wait...developers fix what they want and address the other issues when subs go down. It's their 'bring you back to the game' tactic." (corporate tactis) I know you're a busy bunch of people right now getting your game out live. My problem is this crap was pointed out to you in BETA and you let it go live (among tons of other bugs that were large issues). I don't envy your jobs because they're all about "deadlines with no appreciation" in the corporate world. Well I appreciate you making an MMORPG that's quite unique and I certainly understand a game just releasing is going to have its fair share of issues. But this quest?!
I do, however, no longer care to progress in your game after seeing this garbage. I hate dying in games -- but more so I hate dying in your game because you rake us over the hot coals with repair costs. Make us repair, fine. But your gear decays rapidly even when not dying. It's like you're trying to punish us for trying - and I haven't really seen a game go off an do that since the days of AION where players were punished for just playing the game! (although that was more about NCsoft hating Americans and decided to just punish us in general for being Americans....)
I'm not going to jump off a pillar all day trying to aim the heat at an object on the wall and ruin the games immersion and die every time I fail to hit the object in the distance. If I did that I certainly wouldn't be able to save the people I'm doing the quest for.
You could have at least placed a platform for players to land on with some steps to get back up onto allowing them to run around and try again. No, you punish the players even more when dying. "Hey let's just finish off their armor decay by killing them..."
