Perpetual combat - a new bug?

I've started experiencing a new bug (akin to the dead and alive bug) which places me in perpetual combat.

Even though I'm not in combat, if I open my map I get a red flashing border which usually indicates a hit and if I try and transport to a Way Shrine I'm told that I can't do that in combat.

I can log out of the game either as you're not allowed to do that whilst in combat. Sometime engaging in combat again resets it but if that doesn't work it looks like I'm going to have to quit and restart.

Have you been using the restoration staff? I've heard people complaining about something which sounds like this (but I haven't used it myself).

I do carry a restoration staff, but it's a secondary weapon I rarely use.

Happened to me once and I just quit and restarted weeks ago. Something got out of 'step'.

Are you in a party when this happens? Also, please don't have a reaction, but have you tried disabling any and all add-ons?

happens to me all the time as a Templar (non resto). Some artifact of healing or buffing I think. been happening since Beta, but has shown up a lot recently again.

Gets me all the time in Public dungeons and PVP (can't get back on horse).

Even more fun... your armor decays while you are in combat. had it stuck i n village of the lost last week while takign a break camping bosses. had a sandwich and watche d my armor decay... yay!

Starting/ending a new fight doesn't fix it. zoning/ going to a wayshrine does, but messes up whatever you are doing. Can't log out to fix.. because you are in combat.

Just happened to my temp. Had Septima Tharn down close to beating her when the game sort of froze. She won't do anything and I can't hit her. The game will not let me leave the area or log because it says I am still in combat. I quit the game but it said that I wasn't allowed to do that either and that I will remain in the same combat. Spending eternity with Septima just isn't mu idea of fun. :(

In Eso there are too many restrictions in the battle. What's wrong if you like to flee out of battle with your horse? Or use door to flee? Same time why there is different magicka recovery in battle vs out of battle. What you do with out of battle recovery, there is no point of having that all same go's with health and stamina.

I wouldn't complain if they did away with the whole in-combat status completely. It seems artificial anyways. Like the poster quoted above says, why wouldn't you use your horse, or a door, to run from an enemy. Correct me if I'm wrong, but what good purpose does it server, other than to troll players by constantly malfunctioning?

I have this problem every once in a while, however when it happens I find an enemy npc and let them kill me then I respawn at a wayshrine then teleport somewhere else and that usually takes care of the issue.
That which we obtain to cheap we esteem to lightly, it is dearness only that gives everything its value.
