Dear developers reconsider Road Ahead

Dear Developers,
I know you have made promises of new content every 6-8 weeks. That is to be applauded, yet the state of this game says that you made a mistake as a Developer. This is not the time to cling to your original vision. ESO has much potential yet fans are getting frustrated with continual bugs. Much of the content that already is here has not been seen by many of us...all 3 Vet Zones, all Craglorn.

Bugs we have seen, FPS problems we have seen, Exploits we have seen. It is time to be proactive rather than putting out exasperated screams for help. Perhaps the game is too far gone and your budget isn't there. I'm hoping that that is not the case and that you are able to allocate resources and talents toward turning this game around. Hype only goes so far, your actions are important.

Since this is in the Customer Service Area I'll bring up some current examples of bugs.

1) Sorcerer Volatile Familiar exploding twice.

2) FPS issues have resurfaced, although not as bad as before
3) Inventory issue. If mail item from Rewards for the Worthy is opened by lower level character, then that item is stuck in inventory (reported twice as bug in game with no response)
I'm not listing that many bugs, but these are specific customer support issues that I personally have raised that have not been taken care of (FPS has been addressed and that is appreciated).

Wow. Umm . . . Dear Paul, please continue on your road ahead as planned as I'm sure you and your team can chew gum and walk at the same time. Sincerely, the rest of us.

If the volatile familiars exploding twice is the worst bug in the game I guess they're doing pretty well.

We can each add our own and have quite a list and I am a fan of ESO. I believe in their customer support, but do believe in the possibility of reallocation of resources.

Why are people responding as if this game isn't plagued with problems? The OP is correct. Just look at the thread titles in the forums; almost every thread is about problems with the game.

Sure you have to expect problems in a game of this scale, but not nearly as many as they actually have. Not even close! I also expect things to get fixed without breaking three more things in their place, or losing old fixes when they address new problems they created. If the devs just paid attention to what they were doing, and applied a little common sense to the ramifications of their changes before applying them then the game wouldn't always be in such a sorry state.

I'm sorry, but I agree with the OP. ZOS needs to back off on new content and dedicate all their attention for a while on just fixing stuff. If you disagree, then just browse through the thread titles in the forums. They aren't filled with stories of fun-filled adventures, they're filled with a plague of never-ending problems.

Funny thing going back to maps i ve been with my initial char months ago and i find brand new bugs with my new one Worst? 2 days ago i arrived at coldharbour with my new char and the first mission you get from the "thane" in the Hollow city is buged the markers are dead...i gave up there...
I pay to play a beta game full of bugs and problems zen gents... why should i care for new maps (=new bugs ) fix the old ones first

    Dear Paul Sage,
    I would like to see;
    1. the FPS issue fixed
    2. skill lines completely fixed
    3. quest bugs fixed
    4. and the game completed (housing, house carls, thieves guild, dark brotherhood etc.)

before the road ahead even starts.

This forum is filled with complaints about bugs and user experience (FPS) my poor examples are not the only examples obviously. The suggestion is to polish up the game we have, make some changes to encourage immersing more in what is here. No need to add things like lighting if the game isn't cleaned up to begin with. Reason for the added content and stuff like lighting may be great for hype, but hype doesn't keep people, it is only talk. A job well done keeps people and encourages more business.

I agree with the OP. Bugs to no end but Zeni just keeps adding new fluff. Yes, they promised new content every so often. They also promised a lagfree and bugfree experience. Enough with the new [snip] breaking old [snip].
After the 3-week fps debacle, last weekend pressing any skill button would fire the skill 1-3 seconds later. Invisible mobs, mobs attacking through dungeon walls & doors and skill bar becoming unresponsive, are all unfixed after months.
Well, last weekend I fixed it myself. /unsub.

Time to go back to New Eden or Middle Earth or something...

i think they should rotate their encryption for checking against false data putting a password over the files and changing the password weekly .. i'm sure we would see alot of these bugs/hackers vanish

Amazing, post a comment and the thread stays on page 2. The man asked for feedback on the road ahead. CS why have you sunk this thread?

Does seem that way. Even with more views and comments still got pushed out of front page. Not sure how that works. I did get called out for using the Developer's Name, which I apologized for and made it more generic since this is more about the company's Development choices, budget decisions and the possibility of reprioritization.

I wonder what their policy is on sinking threads, anyone know? Is it just the ones they don't like?

Wow! It's true! New posts won't put this back on page 1. ESO doesn't want to trash threads they don't like and look evil, so they force it to stay buried instead. That's just as bad, and just as evil!

If you don't like negative talk about all the problems in the game, then stop having so blasted many problems for people to complain about!

There is another thread that works for this discussion.
The Road Ahead - July 8
This is an official one and easy to access unlike my post that is almost to the third page of the customer service forum.
