It's like nobody even read in my original post that I said it isn't the most effective thing to do.

We read it, and get it. But your statement that it is not the most effective thing to do makes us wonder what the point of your thread is. That leveling is super easy? That for every class you can spam 1 or 2 abilities and still win easy fights?

Puncturing Strikes is a great ability in many situations and certainly the "go to" ability for leveling, but falls short in other more difficult/specific situations. Was that the point? If so, we already knew that, hehe.

The point is it is hard to justify not having it somewhere in your rotation, whereas other abilities aren't quite as effective without much better planning / situational use. Leveling / questing is a huge part of this game and it sucks to see one ability be so dominate in that regard.

Which class can't get through everything with one to two buttons? I have taken packs of six over and over on a Nightblade using one button.

There are only 5 buttons you can spam (generally, you can't spam an ultimate).

Saying that ESO is easy (or a skill is OP) if you press just 1 button over and over, but ESO is hard (or a skill is fine/normal) if you have to press 2 or more buttons over and over, is an utterly moronic argument, and shows a lack of understanding that the entire game is just pressing buttons over and over.

I find this post to be an utterly moronic argument that shows a lack of understanding of what I've been saying.

It wasn't directed at you/the OP.

Well, the game was designed in that way, i.e. "without cooldowns" (not really actually). CC immunity is a step in other direction to actually prevent 1-button strategies.

    For better DPS, try this:
Single target: Backlash -> Dark Flare -> Blazing Spear -> Sun Fire -> Puncturing Sweep. (Soul Strike ulti)
AoE: Blazing Spear -> Reflective Light -> Puncturing Sweep. (Empowering Sweep ulti)
Ignore DoT effects, spam both Blazing Spear and Reflective Light.
