Of course they care. You don't get the quality of content (not systems, content) unless a lot of people really care about what they're doing.

but really, if you've followed beth since they announced eso a few years ago... you knew this.

it's unrealistic to expect much different from a completely new mmo, than where zeni is now.

That's just my 2 cents. I play because, content wise, it's the best mmo out right now... and I have a pretty good feeling where eso will be after a year or two of fixes and improvements.

One thing you can't deny about zen/beth - They're NOT a lazy production studio. Unlike many other mmos out there.

    *Cough* world of warcraft *cough*
Seriously, they have billions of dollars and they add like a couple class changes every 4 months. When they do come out with content, you have to pay for it! (Expansions)

Billions? Do you know anything about development? Suppose Rome was created overnight in your eyes......

Look it up buddy. They made $5 billon in 2013.

Chump change! COD:GHOST made $1 Billion in its first 24 hours.

That just proves my point. Blizzard has BILLIONS OF DOLLARS. Yet they pump out *** content.

Yep, so **** that they 'still' have over 6 million subs and still hold almost every record that is MMO related !
What? WoW is the baseline for all mmos. Which means it is mediocre. The only reason people still play it is because of the time they have put into it and nostalgic reasons.

Zenimax just keeps on impressing me over and over on how much they truly care about their game and the community of ESO.

To be honest, I have played about a 15 MMOs since 2000 and almost half of them presented the (former) subscriber a similar email and / or questionnaire.
There had been complaints earlier that there had been no followup questionaire/survey when a subscriber left ... and (of course) in internet-land that implied that ZoS didn't care.

OP did a service by posting this info.

if i get a stupid multiple choice like that, with multiple choice options instead of just a space to write out my answers letting me tell them why i left or forcing me to answer thier premade reasons then i would be very angry and just delete that stupid multiple choice email.
clearly they would be saying "your too stupid to come up with reasons why you left, so we made this molded template multiple choice answer sheet that you will fill out so we have something to show our boss when he sees you left and wonders why"

they do listen to these polls, tho in a statistical chart generated by computer using your choices in the poll. These stats are then compiled into other data aggregate from surveys, polls, gameplay stats, forum feedback and in game support queries. With enough stats game changes are then looked at as far a viability, cost, benefit and profitability and changes enacted. (or ignored)

I believe the text part you are allowed to fill in manually isnt even looked at, as that would labor intensive, but it does allow the customer to feel validated and that they have a voice, all good business practices.

you say that as if it's a ligitimate reason. i know your probably right on the money and correct, but that doesnt make it ligitimate or even a normal human reaction. just a cold hearted money grab with no real care for the customer or any future customer.

Well, that's really the bottom-line for nearly every for-profit business on the planet. In regard to ZOS, so long as they can gain at least one new customer for everyone they lose, they're still breaking even.

Sadly, that concept of churn, while widespread in many businesses, seems to lack any willingness to bridge to keeping player 'A' while acquiring player 'B'.
They usually seem to be happy just swapping player 'A' for player 'B'.

I received an feed-back e-mail from TESO. The e-mail asked me to take a survey on why I was leaving, what was wrong and what it would take to bring me back. I've stopped playing many MMOs and haven't gotten one of these before. Made me think that maybe Zeni is, really, trying to get this game to where it needs to be. My only complaint is that the comments section on why you left didn't allow enough room for me to be clear on my reasons. In all seriousness, if they fix the issues I listed I would come back in a heartbeat.

The Text of the survey, minus the additional comments text boxes is below:

Please select the top reason(s) you stopped playing The Elder Scrolls Online.
    • Too many bugs
    • Combat unresponsive
    • Game balance problems in pve
    • Game balance problems in pvp
    • Interference from gold sellers and/or bot programs
    • My friends stopped playing
    • The game is not social enough
    • Technical performance problems on my PC / Mac.
    • Started playing / returned to a different massively multiplayer online game
    • Not enough time to play
    • The game is not fun
    • The game is not what I expected it to be, based on previous Elder Scrolls games
    • I can’t afford the subscription cost / it’s too expensive. I would be willing to pay (in USD/Month)
    • I still want to play, but I want to change my payment method.
    • I don’t want to pay a monthly subscription fee
    • Billing or payment problems when processing my subscription
    • Other (If you select this option, you will be given an opportunity to elaborate on the next page)

Selecting from the choices below, please tell us what it would take to bring you back:
    • I just need to deal with matters in my personal life first
    • Fewer bugs
    • More responsive combat
    • Fewer bots, gold-spammers
    • Better game/customer support
    • Less lagging responsiveness
    • Resolution of my technical issues
    • More subscription options to choose from
    • I'd like the European server to be in Europe
    • Wider array of languages
    • More opportunities for exploration
    • Greater variety of quests
    • Less focus on leveling as a way to advance
    • Faster leveling and progression (particularly at lower levels)
    • More solo content
    • Improved grouping and social tools and options
    • Better/more pvp content
    • Expanded, improved, economy (more auction houses, better banking, improved crafting and trade skill development)
    • More varied veteran rank content
    • More roleplaying support
    • More guild support
    • Smaller group of solo PvP (arena) options
    • Controller support
    • Other (If you select this option, you will be given an opportunity to elaborate on the next page)

Is it OK if we contact you about your concerns? Please select one option below.
    • Yes – please contact me at my registered email address.

    • No

Might be true, but they know they can't please everyone, and that some people just might not like the game and some might just need a break.

I personally have quit warcraft 5 times (still playing), SWG 4 times, SWTOR twice (2nd time for ESO). Although These games change over time, that is probably the reason I keep going back to see what is new, and I always end up staying for a few months.

    Am I the .01%?
