I received an feed-back e-mail from TESO. The e-mail asked me to take a survey on why I was leaving, what was wrong and what it would take to bring me back. I've stopped playing many MMOs and haven't gotten one of these before. Made me think that maybe Zeni is, really, trying to get this game to where it needs to be. My only complaint is that the comments section on why you left didn't allow enough room for me to be clear on my reasons. In all seriousness, if they fix the issues I listed I would come back in a heartbeat.

The Text of the survey, minus the additional comments text boxes is below:

Please select the top reason(s) you stopped playing The Elder Scrolls Online.
  • Too many bugs
  • Combat unresponsive
  • Game balance problems in pve
  • Game balance problems in pvp
  • Interference from gold sellers and/or bot programs
  • My friends stopped playing
  • The game is not social enough
  • Technical performance problems on my PC / Mac.
  • Started playing / returned to a different massively multiplayer online game
  • Not enough time to play
  • The game is not fun
  • The game is not what I expected it to be, based on previous Elder Scrolls games
  • I can’t afford the subscription cost / it’s too expensive. I would be willing to pay (in USD/Month)
  • I still want to play, but I want to change my payment method.
  • I don’t want to pay a monthly subscription fee
  • Billing or payment problems when processing my subscription
  • Other (If you select this option, you will be given an opportunity to elaborate on the next page)

Selecting from the choices below, please tell us what it would take to bring you back:
  • I just need to deal with matters in my personal life first
  • Fewer bugs
  • More responsive combat
  • Fewer bots, gold-spammers
  • Better game/customer support
  • Less lagging responsiveness
  • Resolution of my technical issues
  • More subscription options to choose from
  • I'd like the European server to be in Europe
  • Wider array of languages
  • More opportunities for exploration
  • Greater variety of quests
  • Less focus on leveling as a way to advance
  • Faster leveling and progression (particularly at lower levels)
  • More solo content
  • Improved grouping and social tools and options
  • Better/more pvp content
  • Expanded, improved, economy (more auction houses, better banking, improved crafting and trade skill development)
  • More varied veteran rank content
  • More roleplaying support
  • More guild support
  • Smaller group of solo PvP (arena) options
  • Controller support
  • Other (If you select this option, you will be given an opportunity to elaborate on the next page)

Is it OK if we contact you about your concerns? Please select one option below.
  • Yes – please contact me at my registered email address.
  • Yes – please call me at the following number. Please include your country code
  • No

Please provide any additional feedback you have for us. If you answered 'Other' in one of the above questions, you'll have an additional opportunity to elaborate on the next page.

They really do care and they do want people to play. But they also know they can't make everyone happy and that they can only do as much as they can do. There are certain things like AH that they just won't do. But if you look ahead at what Paul Sage has talked about with guilds bidding on retainers to sell their stuff should make it a little more easy to buy sell and trade. So even though they don't want a full on Auction House they are trying to do a happy medium. They also understand that some people will never be happy no matter what. The hard part about getting feedback from everyone they can is trying to sort out the different types of people, who will be happy if you implement something, who will be happy no matter what you do, who will be happy if you implement something but do it a certain way, and who will just hate your guts for living. It's a finicky business.

Of course they care. You don't get the quality of content (not systems, content) unless a lot of people really care about what they're doing.

but really, if you've followed beth since they announced eso a few years ago... you knew this.

it's unrealistic to expect much different from a completely new mmo, than where zeni is now.

That's just my 2 cents. I play because, content wise, it's the best mmo out right now... and I have a pretty good feeling where eso will be after a year or two of fixes and improvements.

One thing you can't deny about zen/beth - They're NOT a lazy production studio. Unlike many other mmos out there.

Incorrect, once your account goes Lapse ( this will be next to your name) for not having an active sub ( when your remaining times runs out) you will be able to read the forums, but not post until you renew, and that's on the FAQ, go read it.

If your sub is over (and all game time is up) and you are not contributing to the game (by paying for a sub) then no, you shouldn't be able to contribute your thoughts and opinions until you have an active sub again. Though everyone can check the progress by reading the forums at any time.

    2) Zenimax Online: Brings servers down and fixes issues and deploys patches.

    4) Zenimax Online: Brings servers back up!

    yes and no

Yes because I agree that any constructive poster should be allowed to post.

No, because sadly there's a small but large enough to make the forums a vile place, group of ex players who will happily derail any thread saying things like

"the game is crap, I unsubbed ages ago"

and even ex players that don't do this, are basing their thread input on what problems they had with the game when they left, not on what the game is now like.

In a perfect world all could post and those derailing posters would simply be banned.

But we're not in a perfect world and if that happened, other forums would be full of misleading posts claiming they had been banned for speaking the truth etc.

What they should do in my opinion is let anyone read all the forum (I believe this is already the case) and have a new forum section entitled something along the line of (my brains dead this morning, but you get the idea) "Thinking of joining, have a question" that anyone can post in.

Honest Fissh he have point after Blizzard announcement at blizzcon about Warlords of Draenor the basically stop add content which mean 11 month or so without any new content while Zenimax and Bethesda is throw out update and content patch a lot faster then blizzard do and btw blizzard have more man power the most like both Zenimax and Bethesda put together have between them and yes blizzard earn billions of $$ each year last year blizzard earn $4.8 billion but the still can't add any new content until Warlords of Draenor go live ^^
