Scorched Earth animation not showing

I noticed this a few weeks ago but forgot to post about it. I've searched these froums and the net but can't find any info.
The animation for Scorched Earth isn't working right for me. It was ok after they changed the animation to make it more identifiable but then it suddenly changed one day. Now there are now arrows even though I can hear them and all that happens is the earth glows red a wee bit.
Is anyone else experiencing this? I haven't changed any graphics settings and am wondering what could be the cause.
Any suggestions?
PS I will get a screenie tonight.
