This.

Doing everything conceivable to boost magicka/recovery and I won't even go into a VR dungeon run without bringing at least 50 pots. I use potion CD's like a freakin global cooldown as part of my rotation

Apart from the fact that Alchemy is probably my favorite skill line in any TES game, my first character in ESO was a Templar and also plays as an alchemist. I know have other maxed out alchemists, but the Templar needed the potions, and I am always grabbing plants. In fact, I usually take time every week just to farm plants so that I don't run out. Admittedly I also give some to Guildmates, but I definitely guzzle the bottles of potions on my Templar. Something I don't find the need to do as much on other classes.

Wrong. That was a fight for second place. A sorcerer won first.

Also, to all the people saying blazing shield not stopping regen will be OP: you're wrong.

I have to use 6-7/10 skill slots and have all gear dedicated to magicka sustain just to maintain a shield currently. I have to wear my opponents down before I strike. This is to combat DK who hold block, animation cancel, invasion+talons+unstable flame+flame lash. The blazing shield isn't for damage either since it usually hits ~500 or less for me. It will only hurt them if they're in melee range and only if I'm not knocked down.

Edit: If I use those powerful tri-stat potions then I can try to get bursty.

I agree- the blazing shield is just dangerous for noobs or only offers protection to the templar. Compared to other classes our abilities have less performance and higher costs. I hear mages crying when i destroy them, but only those who doesnt seem to know what eclipse is- thats btw. where my only damage comes from. lawl!
