Hirelings even less generous than pre patch.

Today i received my 5 mail drops from hirelings and have maxed points in all 5 , the 4 that do offer blue items all had 0 blue or better. I am sure i read that they would all deliver at least a blue item. Since the patch they seem to be worse than ever , any input by Zen would be appreciated here as this seems to be just another broken fix that they failed to deliver on.

It said it would 'improve the chance' for a 3/3 hireling not that you would automatically get a blue in the patch notes link below for you. You still must face the fickle RNG with each mail

^ This. I have all 40 Hirelings (not all at 3/3) and I can say I average maybe 0-2 Legendary upgrades per day but today I got 3. I always get at least 1 Epic, maybe 3-5 Superior (blue) and way too many Uncommon (green). Even having all these Hirelings at least to 1/3 since about the 2nd day after launch (I started with 5 day early access) I still haven't gotten enough Legendary upgrades via Hirelings alone to finish even one set of gear for one character. But unfortunately for me RNG and I are not friends, more like mortal enemies.

Improved the chance that Tier 3 Woodworker, Blacksmith, and Clothier hirelings will have at least blue-level improvement materials. this is directly from the patch notes it is confusing at best. Getting 0/4 mail with a blue sounds far from improved.

OP, please reread the patch notes. It says "Improve the chance.....to have at least a blue item....". This doesn't say it should include a blue item.

I'm going to refrain stating a really smart-## coment here.

I've had wildly differing mails. One day one hireling sent a single stack of 5 top tier mats, while on the same day another got 5 items, including a stack of 5 top mats, 2 purples and 2 gold Tempers as well as two gems.

It's just RNG. I got a couple blues today; however, yesterday, I got four Elegant Lining in one package and two Tempering Alloy. I've never gotten more than two of anything in any package before, so I'm quite pleasantly surprised to say the least. Perhaps I'll do as well tonight as I did yesterday.

My six hirelings (two each for three characters) still delivered the same quality that they've been delivering, but it's too early to say what the change is going to be.

It was already confirmed in numerous topics. Hireling buff was just another LIES ! ZOS actualy NERFED the hireling.

Source links? I've seen no change whatsoever in Hirelings since the patch, and since the "Hirelings will no longer provide a box in the mail" patch, short of the raw mats, but the upgrade materials haven't changed in frequency since I got all 40 Hirelings around the 2nd day after launch (I started in 5-day early access).

A few days are far too soon to call Nerf, it's randomly generated, and random is random, you need at least another four days before you can even begin to say nerf.

I am confused and worried about my Hireling for cloth.

I have a 'main' crafter that has BS/Cloth/WW/Ench hirelings at 3/3

Was getting 8 mails in 24 hours with good current crafting level raws from them.

I made another toon and started crafting cloth on another server (because we can) and skill pointed 1/3 in cloth to get mats that that level crafter could use.

Now I get the 8 mails (not 9) still, and the Cloth hireling's raws and story has reset to the beginning and I am ONLY getting low end Racial & Trait stones.

The story line my main crafter was at is gone and so are the Raws for that crafters level.

If I delete or respect the low level crafter so it no longer has Cloth 1/3 hireling... will my main crafters Story and GOOD Raws re-continue???

I've noticed a sharp decline in quality over the past two weeks or so. I won't pretend to know why, but I do know, with everything maxed, I get one or two gold upgrade items per week total across all skills. The drop rate used to be far better, in my experience.

Every time RNG fails on someone and they get a dry spell, they come on the forums and declare the hirelings and/or the entire drop rate was nerfed. Then when RNG decides to be kind, they come on here and declare that they are out of control and hirelings/ drop rate needs to be nerfed.

Random is random people.

I'm still getting about the same as before the supposed nerf.

I was occassionally getting one rune in a mail, I still get one occassionally, usually two or three. My Blacksmith hireling still sends me the same type of mats (except for the two characters I upgraded of course). As do my Woodcrafting and Clothing Hirelings.

@Nudel is right random is random.

ok... here let me rephrase some ...
Main crafter on DC alliance US server 3/3 on four crafts
new crafter on AD alliance US server 1/3 Cloth

Main crafters story is reset to the begining after making the toon in AD

No longer getting current level usable raws, 'Silverweave' - 'D.Wax' - 'Superb Hide' as well as Racial / Trait stones

Now I am getting 'only' the Racial / Trait stones and no other items, and that is IF I get anything, I am getting mail from the hireling with the beginning story but there are NO attachments.

I know what the RNG is and what a 'dry spell' is ..... this is different, If the current story continued in the same way it had and I am getting low amounts of items, then I would not be worried.

But the Story has restarted from the beginning and I am also receiving mail from her with NO attachments.

switched to new AD crafter and the 1 hireling mail has 2 racial stones
