The vet mob nerf - who asked for this? Can we find a happy medium?

    Deal with it! They were actually people asking for it like me. I find it tedious to go in a vet area questing where you need 1h to kill just 3 trolls because the quest area is full with them. I gave up on this since although i changed my templar layout i just couldn't get done with them. I had to wait two days for a friend helping me. And yes all the stuff you said about crits and builds is just a nuisance for me. I already had to change my outfit, all skills changed, spell crit and weapon crit potions equipped and still you go down in two hits. If it would be a lag free combat I would maybe able to do it alone, but one time the pressed action is not coming in time you're done. It took me hours to get even a few people coming to help with dolmen in vet areas or bosses since not many did it. Most don't do full quest, just the ones to move quickly on. I am happy for you you have a nice build where you just can go through the areas like nothing. But I want to play my templar how I want, don't want to use just the skills and armour type like everyone, the fun is just gone in vet areas. If you don't wear a skirt and have a staff or super crit weapons you can't make it. This reduced variety a lot and that's maybe the reason noone wants to play there.

    You could have tried getting good.

    I don't buy this. I play a stam build templar in 1h/shield and heavy, with dual on my backup bar. I'm the OP of the thread, and I'm far from an "elitist" or hardcore player - I'm basically an Elder Scrolls fan who plays just TES titles and old-school stuff, and this is my first MMO. I do kind of feel out of depth in the vet 4-player dungeons and in pvp I tend to stick to a support role with max optimized heals from my gear and skill bar set-up, w/ a bow and some aoes on my second bar, and yet I was coping fine with the vet zone pve difficulty. I'm not just looking for insane combat difficulty or else I'd solo dolmens or whatever the other sarcastic suggestions were (although the anchors I've done since the nerf have been much more straightforward); I was enjoying the challenge while unlocking the storyline and exploring zones. Now I basically don't use pots, just use regen drinks instead of +stats food, and I just need to use a heal if I get careless or caught off-guard. World bosses still seem tricky, at least. Maybe it will be a different story when I get to V9-10 zones, for which I'm now considering kind of speeding through the Cadwell's Almanec quests in my current zones until I get to those.

    Still, I accept that the nerf is a done deal and that there does seem to be a significant contingent of players who wanted it - I just wanted to hear more about why, so thanks for the feedback.

    There will always be players that will view these sorts of changes as unnecessary but ZOS obviously felt that the change catered for a larger group than the ones that didn't want it. This is supported by the in game experience right now - I seem to be one of about 4 players in VR10 Bangkorai for the last 2 days. The simple fact is that not enough people are doing the high level VR zones which was making getting groups together for bosses and dolmens bloody hard.

    I persevered but I'd be lying to say I've enjoyed every single minute of it so I can totally see why change is needed.

    i cant see any nerf in vet Content, i am always dying, except in pet using. i am Feeling in this vet Content like a unreal clone game in hard mode. no good loot, no Gold gear no Gold weapons no ah no friends only a Micro skill no Support(my second account is unable to Play because i get no secret number). i came from wow etc, i am no soldier(no 200 Buttons in corpus mouse). what ever we do, it should have done with love. Jesus loves us

    You could have tried to help Sertari out with a few suggestions, you know.

    @Sertari‌

    Use Binding Javelin and a restoration staff for those encounters. It's boring and not the "elite" way of doing things but at least it'll get you a lot of stuff done solo.

    Binding Javelin will push the NPC back and knock him down. After Binding Javelin do a heavy attack for the magicka regen and again Binding Javelin followed by a Heavy attack. Rinse and repeat.

    There are a couple of other tricks but this would probably mess up with your build.
