Leveling Skills More Evenly

I previously had this in another post but edited it out because I felt it deserved its own thread.

I would like to see a way to level skills that aren't on the active action bar, but on a secondary one. For example, my Templar has a healing bar that I only use in spot situations outside of dungeons. When I do quests or kill things solo, I almost never need my healing bar, and the skills don't see any experience gain. This forces me to sometimes devote 1-2 of my active bar slots for just leveling skills I am not even bothering to use for what I'm currently doing.

Now I don't mean the secondary bar should be getting 100% of what the primary one is. I just feel like it would be better off if the inactive bar saw perhaps 25% of the XP gain as the primary bar when gaining experience, save for abilities duplicated from one bar to the next. Abilities found duplicated on both bars would only get the normal 100% they get now. For example:
Bar one- A/B/C/D/E
Bar two- A/B/C/F/G
If abilities are represented by letters, both bars have 3 abilities in common. Turning in a quest with bar one active would grant A, B, C, D, and E 100% of normal XP, while F and G would get 25% of normal experience. The same logic could be applied to the XP gain of skill tree itself.

While I'm sure there will be naysayers for this suggestion, I feel like it would provide dual-role players a better way to keep up and help players explore more play styles in the long run.

    why so difficult :)

I have 3 weapon sets already at lvl 50

working on my fourth, all you actually have to do, is once you turn in a quest you switch out the weapon to that your leveling, and if you have just one skill from that skill line as well put that in your cast bar as well.

its the same with armor, all my armor on main is lvl50

at one point on my alt, ill make a 7 set training armor if needed, dont think so for leveling the last two armor lines as well, going 7 light armor right now only with my alt.

You're referring to veteran ranks, where you have tons of time to level everything as you see fit. I'm referring to lower levels, where you have to be more picky if you want to see use in the skills you want.

take my alt as an example then
    lvl 45 templar

almost lvl 50 in all 3 main skill lines
between lvl 40-45 in two weapon lines

this shows if you do it right, you will be able to have all main at lvl 50 and two weapon sets at lvl 50, once you reach lvl 50 yourself.

Fits the progression pretty well in my opinion, it shouldn't go faster then normal rank

The biggest thing I'm talking about isn't the skill lines themselves but the individual abilities. There's a big difference there.

Yeah, you can swap skills before putting in a quest, and you'll get decent XP on them.

If you want to do it really easily, you can set up Wykkid's outfitter to swap bars so that all you have to do is select which bar you want active just prior to cashing in the quest (that's what I do, although swapping skills manually is easy enough). I've got about 5 different skill-bar sets on the go currently.

Yes, I've taken to using a skill swap mod just to level the particular skills I want to. It's just that not everyone is going to find themselves with a build that will cater to such easy leveling as you might have seen, and not everyone is going to have an addon to fix the problem for them.

You don't need an addon, and swapping skills before leveling (if you need to), is easy as pie.

More importantly, there is no reason for you to have duplicate abilities on your bars (with the exception of Magelight). Using the same ability on both bars is a waste of a slot.

The experiences other people have in the game are not limited to the things you have personally experienced.

This post is the definition of ironic.

Most people are not having any issues leveling skill trees. In the Elder Scrolls style: if you want to learn how to use something, use it.
