I'm all about Riften. I like how the Wayshrine is right in there in the middle of town and everything is close by. Makes it a lot easier to do your business without having to run all over.

You?

Eyevea, because it isn't a place bored players go to jump about like demented 5-year-olds, spam AoEs and generally be a PITA with their pets when in enclosed spaces like banks.

    Shornhelm for me :)

All the amenities so nice and close together!

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

It depends on what region I'm playing in. In Stonefalls, it's Davon's Watch. In Eastmarch, it's Windhelm.

Daggerfall. I love the atmosphere. It feels like a real city because it's always full of people and it's the place that my character calls home.

The wayshrine being at the edge of town is a PITA, but the crafting station's right across from the bank so I can live with it.

    I like Riften for looks.

However, I use Velyn Harbor in Malabal Tor for my banking, equipment crafting. Spend most of my time there.

Rivenspire is the one I visit most often, mostly on account of the sensible layout that puts the bank, the crafting tables, and the stable in one corner of the city.
Hircine loves me, this I know,

I like different towns/cities for different reasons, they each have their own charm.
But when I want to just hang out I usually go to Daggerfall. Like @ebondeath‌ said there's always lots of people around and it just feels more alive.
I guess it depends on which faction you start in, 1-50 cities are always busier than VR zones.

College of Aldmeri Propriety, where lesser races are forged into lesser tools.
Trivium: reeducation, physical enhancement and humiliation.

it is one of the most wonderful locations, unfortunately tainted with the bad story progression and lack of freedom of choice - I was forced to perform an act that stands against the very nature of Altmer.

Dhalmora for crafting and Shornhelm right after that, these are the most convenient places I've explored so far (I miss the Aldmeri Dominion territory yet..). If we're talking about landscape then probably Windhelm though I don't like those reveling nords and facilities are a PITA...

In terms of atmosphere my faves are daggerfall and mournhold. I hated mournhold at first, but seeing the tribunal along hillsides while questing around mournhold was awesome. I like a bunch of cities in EP and DC, it's sad the only city in my mains alliance I like is vulkher guard.

Every Khajiiti settlement, love the atmosphere. And of course Elden Root because it's home. I like Wayrest too, it feels almost like a sprawling High Rock city should.

For crafting and inventory management, I must say Rawl'kha.

Shornhelm in Rivenspire, its beautiful. Unfortunately in VR mode its also empty most of the time.

Sentinel. Went there when I played Daggerfall. Played the same character in every ES game since. Got ESO mostly so I could take my Redguard home again. Home didn't dissapoint :). Though I am now VR3 I still go home to Sentinel for all my shopping and banking and stable and crafting stuff.

Riften, because the armor crafting stations are all in the same building, the bank is right next to it, and the enchanting station is right on the other side of the bank.

I also liked Mournhold, but then I got used to Riften.

I avoid any city where the armor crafting stations are in different buildings.

Hollow City is the only one I really like. The rest are meh. I think they did a better job with the town looks, like Rawl'kha than the ones trying to look like cities.

    @Mud_Puppy, I love that one!

If we think of town as "hubs to shop and craft", I'd say "Northern Morrowind" and "Riften"

Morrowind is the one in the siege zone isn't it?
