    But I like this game.

They've been working on this game for 7 years. How exactly was this game "rushed"?

It clearly wasn't ready for release when they released it, it might only be the last few months that were rushed, but they were rushed. The game had too many bugs and broken features, known bugs and broken features, people in Beta testing had been reporting them for months.

Completely agree. The game WAS in development until it reached beta. Nowadays we have almost the same game so the development stopped a little bit it seems. Or maybe is just Alex and me who think that way.

No because they chose to allow someone else to take on this adventure.
There were tons of discussions and planning years before this game was started and it came down to Bethesda saying...we just don't want to invest there right now.

So you are saying Beth does not agree with the whole ESO idea, right?

I think they gave it to another division because MMOs are a whole different enterprise than single-player games. It makes sense to have a dedicated division working on MMOs, and allow the resources of Bethesda to remain on the single-player games.

And I strongly agree that there was no more (and perhaps a bit less) changing of lore in this game than bewteen any of the other Elder Scrolls games.

Sorry, but unless you know Todd Howard personally, or he makes some kind of statement, there is ZERO point in speculating about what he or other people in Bethesda think of this game. Fact is, ZOS and Bethesda are sister companies, they are headquartered in the same building, and they did consult the Bethesda people on a lot of things while they were developing ESO. I remember reading somewhere that Todd specifically gave the ok for the lore/time period ZOS used for ESO (because they didn't want to make anything that conflicted with his plans for future single player games in the ES series).

Well, you have some TES games just to compare the look of armors with this...Do you really se that colours appropiate for this franchise? Are you looking at the blue, purple and red armor up there?

    Seriously...

So giving players customization options is a bad thing? I don't get it. Not everything has to be drab and grey.

I see this game as a spinoff, meaning it wasn't intended to be just like the other games. This was meant to be a social game with the Elder Scrolls theme and story. For some, it worked. Personally, I love it. I love Skyrim and the others in a very different way. In the other games, I feel like they have something this game doesn't have. At the same time, they were lonely.

This. It's is a different kind of game, and not the first spin-off or non single player RPG in the TES series. Generally MMOs have slightly dumbed down graphics to make the whole MM part work. Most MMOs go cartoony as that is the best way to make the lower graphics work. ESO tried to stay mostly realistic, but still slightly cartoony when compared to Skyrim.

Art design and game mechanics don't equal lore. If they did, you should be complaining that people in ESO and Skyrim don't have super long legs with really short arms that barely reach their waist as was established in the "lore" of Morrowind! And while a few people wearing gaudy colored armor will be slightly immersion breaking for the TES fans like myself, it's an MMO and people are always going to be doing stuff that breaks immersion.

Unfortunately Todd Howard & Co have zero control over what happens with ESO. He's a pretty smart guy though and was probably very aware of the possible outcomes with an experiment like ESO.

On the upside whatever he and Bethesda do next they will come off looking golden.

on the one hand this game was rushed,

Rushed? It's been in development for five+ years. How long do you want them to take?
But then every MMO is never as good as it could have been.

If none have them have been as could as they could have been, does that mean that actually they COULDN'T have been that good?
    But I like this game.

At least we can agree on something :-P

I loved the Glass Armour but I still think the Morrowind variant was the most awesome, it always seemed to glow ;).

/edit Awright, awright back to OP :). I see nothing wrong with this product either in terms of the game, where there's a stack of stuff to do, or in the Lore variations.

Someone has already mentioned in another thread that the Magicka Format was adopted after the creation of the Mages Guild. Since Galerion is the Guildmaster, one would assume it's only recently been created.

As for other Lore .... well, things will change over 800 years. I mentioned in a different thread that the Tribunal Morrowind was flat with massive sewers. However at some point in 800 years they might have reconstructed and raised it all. As for Lore-books, they will change as scumpeople edit them so I don't see issues with differences there either

level-zone block and obligatory classes are definately something that they dislike. combat alone is fine, even good.

lore and story. it is not bad: writing wise but to me at least, Altmer lore got abused in so many repulsive ways that even Molag Bal, King of R.ape would not dare to participate in such villainy. who has written ayrenn and under what circumstances? some marketing genius adviced to write about rebelious 'unique' queen? or maybe writer got locked in the disney world?

they probably dislike Altmer new 'cute' appearance.
they most definately hate Altmer being equals in height with nords

they absolutely loathe lack of black hair colour in the character creation for Altmer. [look at my signature and join the fight against this horrible game bug]

I'm find with the armor colors. I find it "peculiar" that the only thing the developers could come up with in terms of good looking stuff was a blatant rip on comic book characters. I mean, if they had a group shot of their super hero characters, then some other shots showing other looks, that would have been one thing. But saying "here's all the good looks we could come up with" and then showing 5 different superhero clones is... peculiar.

People need to stop seeing this game as an ES single Player. It never was meant to be one, its an MMO with all the goods and bads MMO´s have, a game that only plays in the ES universe.

I think ZO did a very good job here, while I disagree with some of the changes and announcements made especially in regards of VR, its a very good conversion to the MMO genre.

The companion system is what I miss from Skyrim and the housing, to me key feature in a release title - but damn you cant have it all.

I don't understand why people complain about the Dye system, yes it was missing at Skyrim, but what the heck! People always complained at Skyrim that it didn't had enough variation and colors, that's why the mods had such a huge success over there.

If you don't want to be a Power Ranger then don't be one, its not like you must wear pink to enter a quest zone.
