If your subscription payment fails to go through check your billing information. I had to add my middle initial in the first name line and the last 4 digits of my zip code for it to work. Remember no punctuation/symbols either.

Mine quit working all of a sudden and this issue seemed to repro with 2 different banks. Doing this corrected it for me.

I also have problems renewing my subscription. No initials in the name. Zip code is only 4 digits in my country. Tried 2 different VISA cards and paypal. Tried to change the name of the account to my wifes name since I pay with a card in her name. This is the reply I got from support:

so what you can do is change the name on your account to match what's on the credit card and then make the payment and once your done you can change it back once the payment has gone through

Last month it was only paypal that was the problem. Now I can't pay using any method I try. A two months game card is too expensive to pay for. Two months payed in recurring sub is about 33 usd (one month recurring option), and a two months gamecard is 45 usd.

It's totally crass that the billing system has changed to require EXACT CHARACTER MATCHING in order to work when some banks and payment processors don't provide the layout necessary for all countries.

It's MORE crass that what used to work no longer does .. guess it's just another example of playing customers being collateral damage is ZOS' losing war against RMT and bots.

I am having the Problem trying to renew, as of Today July 7th I have been on phone conversations to Several Credit Card Companies, and PayPal, as well as game support. No problem on the banking side from any of the payment sources, but I have still been unable to pay. I have changed my info in game to match bank profiles exactly, even dropped the extra 4 digits for the zipcode. Used all the suggestions, including various browsers all in Private browser modes, still no results. I would think they would make it easier to pay for a subscription. If the game download would have been free, I would no longer be playing, too much of a headache and wasted time for me, and I love the game. Any Suggestions of what i should or could do would be greatly appreciated!
