Other - since a couple options fit. I consider myself a hard-core casual serious gamer.

I have been gaming since I was a young pup and that included the days of PONG. There probably only been a handful of days in my life that haven't included at least 4 hours of gaming time.

30+ years of experience has left me very good at games and while I could easily finish most games very quickly, I have no desire to do so. I take my time. It is the playing of the game that brings enjoyment, not the completion. I like harder and more challenging difficulty settings in most games. I am also a completionist, which means I poke into every corner of the game world, just to see what might be there.

I have enjoyed PvP games on occasion and have been really good at them as well. However, my life no longer really allows me to play many games that don't have a "pause" button. There are many times throughout the day that RL world will call me away at a moments notice. So most PvP situations are off the table. This also tends to include most PUGs as well. I have a few friends who understand the situation and would completely understand if I have to go afk unexpectedly and without warning.

So I am a hard-core gamer who likes to take their time and experience a game, not rush to complete it.

You make an interesting point, especially in context of other TES games. The most devoted TES fans seem to be people who don't rush anywhere, don't care about accomplishing everything with one character and prefer to immerse themselves in the world instead.

I think in this poll hardcore means number crunching, race-you-to-the-top mentality whereas casual is taking it easy and enjoying the journey. Competitive Trail runs vs. spending the evening reading in-game books, for example. Of course you can do both, but you usually have a preference.
then my devotion breathes aetherius' light itself. three months into the game and my max character has level 14.

Yeah. I'll admit it......so much time invested...just to have my paladin nerfed to my short Dwarves knees. I sold every thing I had, donated everything to my guild, changed my password to something unrecoverable then cancel led my sub. Bridge burnt never to go back again.

Come to think of it ESO needs pandas, that seems to attract kids now days.

Pve mostly, but there are some games that make pvp worthwhile, eve for example, being the best pvp experience I've ever had, you have a lot to lose if you die in that. Makes me nervous just thinking about it lol.

I wish. I have never been to Elden Root. I was farming motifs, earning gold. Then I stopped to log in.

I'm one of those people who cannot play the game when they cannot have their favourite hair colour. My Altmer was, is and always will be black haired. And I feel cheated by ZOS: in game and in their promotional videos Altmer have black hair. for some it might seem to be an insignificant problem, even not problem at all. but for me it is 11 years of one and the same looking character.

Classes themselves are a big limit for me. I have tried Sorcerer (lvl 14) but most of his spells are simply heretical, dark this, dark that, daedric this and daedric that. No-No!

If they will not erase class system then I will play Templar (I adore his skill lines, although I still find it lacking: I would gladly mix his abilities with storm calling). I will play Templar if they fix this one oblivion of an annoying bug: missing black hair colour for Altmer! until then, well, I'm paying and waiting.

I hope that ZOS will display good will and bring black hair colour to character creation in Monday/Tuesday patch. such little thing as adding one colour to character creation should not take eternity for them.

3 months waiting for one missing bugged hair colour is a bit too much.

I will repeat once again: there are Altmer in game who have black hair colour: http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140408004218/elderscrolls/images/e/e2/Valano.jpg and there are in promotional materials (although I don't have a screenshot saved).

I think it can be spelt with or without the A being capitalised, I'm sure I've read books (in game books) with it written aetherius. The key was that it's ae at the start, it changes the pronunciation, and since spelling is a reflection of the spoken word, that's kind of important.

But in this context it probably should be a Capital A at the start.

I'm speaking for myself but it does also aptpy to the majority of the guild I'm in.

I love questing and all the PvE stuff. I love reading through all the NPC comments in the quests, I like to get immersed.

    Love crafting.

Many myself included are into the ESO lore.

I love spending a few nights in PvP

I also enjoy challenging content and many like to group up for one or two evenings a week to do the hard stuff.

However we are a very casual guild, elitists are not welcome.

We are mainly older players and the days of having to be online for 4 hrs at a certain time for a raid are long past.

I don't mind a bit of roleplaying but those roleplaying servers I've been on, in MY opinion the role players want to take it to a ridiculous level, their choice I know, but it's not for me, but I do like to roleplay (not sure if thats clear or not.

    So I like all aspects.

The one thing I do not like and that goes for my guild too, is faceroll content. We don't want to log in and press one button and get through it all.

I said PvE casual but I can be very casual about it. I like to wander around by myself picking flowers and admiring the scenery if the critters will let me. I generally don't run to an RPG when I want to whack something but choose a more active game like Diablo III or a JRPG where I can whack wuffs to my hearts content.

I'm the type that wants to experience everything a game has to offer to me. Which means I'm not just strictly a PVE or PVP guy. I wanna experience both and learn the nuances of both. I would consider myself a "casually hardcore" player. I play a lot and I consider myself fairly competent, I don't however subscribe to going full min/max top end optimal builds or nothing philosophy. Enjoyment comes before effectiveness for me. Not to say the two are mutually exclusive but if I'm not having fun with a build that does top DPS for it's class then I would respec and re-evaluate my build in a heartbeat.

Serious gamer. I consider myself a completionist. I want every quest flag completed, every collectible collected, every achievement done.

And when I'm done, I'll do it again for another class.

So far, I've done fairly well. Bugged quests and achievements irk me, but I've accomplished a lot of the 'harder' goals, such as becoming Emperor (the achievement for which is bugged, gah).

Someone in my guild described me as a "hardcore casual". I laughed, but honestly it probably fits.

I play a lot but I level slowly. I'm not interested in sprinting to the end of anything. The journey is a lot of fun in and of itself.

I love the PVP and the PVE both equally. I like group dungeons and I always make a point of doing them while I'm still on level or better yet underleveled so they're still fun.

I'd say I'm RP-curious if that makes sense. I've never done RP in any game, but I like when I see other players doing it, even if I still stand back and watch instead of joining in. Especially Khajiit speak...anyone who speaks the language of the cats earns "I win" buttons in my book.

I seem to be an anomaly in this game since I don't really fit into any one camp. I like to play slowly but I also like a challenging fight, which is hard to get if you play slowly (due to nerfs to content you haven't reached yet) and even harder if you're a completionist like me (always overleveled due to doing all the things).

Not hardcore enough to hang with the hardcores (I like that difficulty level, but I won't commit my life to a raiding schedule or sprint through content to keep up).

Not casual enough for the casuals (we appreciate mostly the same things but I like hard fights so I'm not welcome).

Ah well, I'm used to being strange.

Picked 'Other' because I couldn't otherwise define myself in the choices. I consider myself casual, solo, drops only, not interested in strategy or crafting, not interested in private groups or guilds, and not interested in PvP or PKing. That leaves me playing the story and the adventure daily for hours on end, playing solo PvE and all the questing and dungeons I can get my hands on with public help. I think this leaves me a pretty casual serious ESO gamer where 'serious' doesn't lump me with hardcore at all.

I might have taken 'PvE and RPG Solo Only Serious Gamer'.

I find this poll´s options to be quite misleading.
I´m the kind of player that likes games, that i can immerse in.
Reading books, gazing at sunsets, listening to all the npc´s and exploring, i enjoy just as much, as the regular PvE and PvP content.

The poll´s option for that would be "really really casual"... per definition that´s not casual at all. Probably the exact opposite - most casual gamers only play the core elements of a game and then leave.

Actually I would have said that the poll's option for that is "Roleplaying". Taking the time to do what you want at a relaxed pace, enjoying the sights, not racing to get to the next level, not questing because you want to level or be heroic is still a form of Roleplaying.

Others may see it differently of course. I don't think of myself as a roleplayer because I'm more interested in seeing where I can get to or how to get to a spot I can see, but much of the central gaming I do in ESO is considered roleplaying. It's all POV, and my POV is to see what I can get to ;)
