If 1000 million is a billion, then 250 million is a quarter of that, no matter what country you come from !

Oh and I'm British numbnuts !

    :p

It does matter what country you come from Mr Brigtish..

You are the only one thay do not understand outside english-speakers, 1 billion means 1.000.000.000.000 (1million times one million) and not 1.000 millions (1 thousand times one million).

Now that is obvious you are ignorant about anything not being right under your nose, you can stop trying to teach other people who already know what a billion is for both them and english-speakers.

the people that pre order gets first hand experience, gets some pre order releases like pets, they which is most important for many get the name of the char they want.

Every game at one point gets a discount, I have brought lots in Steam for next to nothing.

They must have extra copies of the Explorer's Pack codes, otherwise it is supposed to be impossible for them to do that.

    https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5728/kw/Explorer's Pack

they can upgrade to imperial and get the imperial race, horse, rings, and mudcrab. but the explorer's pack is not available after launch, which is what gives you the ability to play any race in any faction.

Yes, I thought I heard people say they tried to enter codes in after launch, and they didn't work.

Oddball defectors should be kind of a rarity - the prelaunch offer made it possible for some to exist, but it sure as heck shouldn't be common (I think I only remember one quest that involved defectors - they were Argonians who wanted nothing to do with the Ebonheart Pact or elves.)

Yes, I bought pre-launch, so I have a kitty in DC.

As for discounts, they don't really mean anything. Blizz often has sales that allow people to get up to speed with the current expansion for less than $40 total.

Now I know you are just looking for a flame eh eh eh
Care to give us a link to your sources?

Really? Even before this game was launched Zenimax admitted they spent over 200 million on ESO !
Take into consideration what they have spent since then and its like to be more than quarter-billion (I was being conservative)

    Link or it's BS
MAYBE if you remove one zero LOL

A proper flame-baiter at least does some home work

Why on eath someone who follow eso since q who DO his homework.uite a long time will spend time to found the old article that he has already read. So those figure have been communicate in an interview before eso s release. And those are known by any guy who DO his homework. So maybe YOU should spend more time reading official news and less asking the link to poeple who actually read them .

And get affected by the most and most severe bugs.

But even knowing that I still bought it pre-release.

    Its not really free.

You need to pay an entry fee unless you are from the press, I don't think anyone is nerd enough to go there because of a "free" ESO copy.

Its just marketing and 90% of the people who get these copies will either resell them on Ebay or just let them rot in the closet.

Sad but true. Some dude who has no idea what TESO is gets a free copy and wastes it while the real fans seek it out and pay thru the nose to play.

It's bad enough looking through my local games stores and seeing ESO selling for £24.99, this close to release that's not good.
First we get that 'thing' where people who buy those limited edition books get a FREE months game time.
But now we have Zenimax giving away 3000 copies of ESO at Quakecon (not to mention that's also 3000 months worth of game time.
It seems to me (and maybe I'm being a little selfish) that the only people who are paying for ESO are those that are already paying for ESO ! ! !

    :disappointed:

This is a good way to increase subscription length while still obtaining "swag" from the shop. Nothing wront with that.

As for collectors or new players, or people who will resub, this lets them get something extra for it.

Zenimax is looking for an Upmarket and I would rather them sell well made books and statuettes than +50 Swords of Killall and +50 Silt Strider Mounts.

    Within; Without.

Zenimax Media (owner of Zenimax Online) received a 300 million investment, and on the developer website (in faq, "how are you playing for this") this is written: ZeniMax Media recently announced a $300 million investment from Providence Equity Partners, and of course the massive success of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Fallout 3 only adds to the assets that helped fund ZeniMax Online. Suffice it to say, we're covered.
doesn't prove that the game costed 200 or more million but if it was on the website for the company i think that can have some weight zenimaxonline.com/faq.html

Zenimax media inc. is quite large, and this has basicaly not even anything to do with this since nowhere does it state that in went to the making of eso. For example, zenimax media inc also owns Bethesda, who currently is working on making both the next TES title and the next Fallout title, both big titles.

Yay, 3000 more ppl on the servers. I paid 80€ as pre order for the Imp Edition. I dont care, if they even totally would make it free now. At least we see more ppl coming in. More people is more fun. It already feels sooo empty most of the times.

I totally am up for them giving free copies away. We need fresh meat ingame! If they paid or not, who actually cares. As long as you have people to smash their heads in in cyrodiil, for dungeon runs, for trials, for RPing, for just chatting, for questing etc.

    I dont mind ;)

My money is now these plastic sheets with amusing images on them. Oh, look, an icebreaker, about our only military presence in the Arctic. And a portrait of some jerk with a really long name who used to be prime minister.

Me neither. I know that buying early has its benefits, but you're going to be paying full price, and the game will go on sale eventually. Happens with everything, really. Want to be the first family on the block with a robot maid? Then you're gonna pay a lot more than the folks who hold off buying one for a few years.

Hell, I just got a cell phone this past winter; I remembered them being really, really expensive, and didn't realize how much service prices dropped over the years. I've got a $42 plan, and don't use the thing very much, but it does come in handy when I need a cab; I hate mucking about with coin-op stuff. And, well, I'm no spring chicken any more, so I suppose it's a good safety device should I require an ambulance. Or someone else. I did once have a standard first aid ticket, but that was long ago, and while I'll do what I can for man or beast in distress, at least I can call for help.
