Are the forums edited for non players?

I noticed something odd a week ago or so. The position of the English version column of tabs of links went from the left to the right. It happened at the same time as a patch, so I didn't think too much about it. I did notice there were no stickies on the forum today. That seemed odd, there are always one or two. But I just glossed over it.

So when I saw a post I wanted to post on, I noticed I wasn't signed in. So I signed in, and the whole list changed. Not a bit of change, the whole list changed, now I see polls, stickies, complaining. This isn't just random, the posts are being edited based on where they get to be seen.

This brings me to another point, I have tried to keep the people I play with interested in this game. I kinda like it, it looks nice, it's very story driven, but a few patches ago I now get random load screens. I have to direct them where to go. I have to hold their hands thru, well every thing. OMG the solo mage/fighter/main story quests are a royal pain in the ass for me. Not to do, but to talk/walk them thru and hell, I rolled a templar with them. We are only lvl 23 or 24 atm. (I also have a VR1 sorc that I play solo, for those that will just whine that I haven't seen anything.)

You may ask why I have to walk them thru every thing. Fair question, I am not young, I am in my forties, but they are in their fifties. Well she would kill me for saying that, she is ALMOST fifty. They are very slow on the keyboard, and I am almost as slow.

This is where the loading screens really annoy me. I can't get them moving and completing things if I am stuck loading. If we don't keep moving, we lose their attention. And we leave this game. I only game with them, and have for the last holy crap, has it been like 10 years? Sadly, I think this game has already lost us to the WOW expansion..

Now back to my first point, the list I saw without logging is was completely different from the one I saw when logged in.

I'm lost. What's your question? Not being obtuse, but the '?' I see is about how long you and your friends have played together... Everything else is a statement.

The question's in the title I believe

The question is in the title, and the first, second, and last paragraph sum up it nicely.

I know that if you are on a thread and use the sign in at the top of the page it takes you to General Discussions but if you sign in where the "Leave a comment" is it will keep you on that thread's page. Kind of annoying at times I agree. When you hit Recent Comments the lists of threads changes (almost by the second) and puts the most recent comment by a user at the top of that list of the threads.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you have to have an active subscription in order to post a comment, which I am all for, to help keep the /nerdraging quitters at bay from trolling.

The content visible to a member who is logged in, and another who isn't, should be the same. We did have a discrepancy last week where the Developer Discussions category did not show up if you weren't logged in, and this has since been fixed.

As for specific threads showing up differently, this shouldn't happen, but a quick check confirms this is. It appears that there may be a delay in what is being seen. We'll investigate further, thank you for bringing this to our attention.

One thing I noticed is, when you are not logged in, you can see people's signatures. I have opted to hide signatures since I find them a bit annoying and distracting, so I have them turned off. But if you are not logged in, they come back.

    Go figure.

In order to reduce bandwidth, the forums are cached every few minutes, and this is what people see if they aren't signed in. For a very active forum like General Discussion, a few minutes can result in many new/bumped threads re-arranging the front page. Also note that no personal settings (including your time zone) are applied to the forums when you aren't signed in, so you'll view them with default options and UTC for post times. Between the re-arranged threads and the change in time stamp (unless that's what you're currently using!), the effect can be jarring.

There should be no other difference between what threads and posts are visible to members who are signed in, and those viewing the forums without an account. If you come across such a disparity, please let us know.

    Hey!

I Unless Zenimax does something extremely game changing, removing 60-70% of the content or something. Dont think so for a second!

You do not have to worry about the WoW expansion. I doubt very much that any number of ESO players who enjoy ESO in their own way, whatever that may be, would have any interest in what WoW has become and what they offer in their expansion.

Sure! Its new. Some people may buy and test it just cause its new.

But, not to go into details, they made it even easier. You have no need for any choices really, that has any impact on "playing" or raiding.

WoW is the master in that Type of MMO, where everyone gets instant stuff and be able to get everything, including beating endgame, within a month, being half drunk and watching TV. Stats, gear and even build means less and you do not need to bother about it.

People we "loose" to WoW, I cant see them even remotely enjoy ESO, where it takes more then 10 minutes to get to level 10.

    Dont worry that one ;-)

go login to the starting zones. lots of new players are coming in every day, you can tell by the newbie question like how to respect and how to open chests etc.
