Because the complainers scream loudest and have more time to scream because they aren't playing the game. Therefore when they get something valid to complain about (Cyrodiil FPS issue) they go all out.
When people see a forum full of complaining, and not just constructive feedback, but negative, mean spirited and down right insulting feedback, they can't help but post in disgust.
Then debates, or rather, arguments start in those threads. Someone will say they have a right to complain, how dare people be upset over it. Someone else will say there are ways to go about complaining, and neither side will actually listen to each other, they just have preconceived notions about the other group. Looking for parts of their posts to dwell on, weather it is relevant to the discussion or not. Always attempting to discredit each other, like it will help.
Basically, the drama keep these threads at the top.

I can understand that not everyone is going to be as understanding or impatient as the next person, but it just seemed a bit more vocal than usual. Especially considering some of the things have been fixed.
Either way, cant make everyone happy all the time...

Because some people like to attack anyone who is trying to make the game better.
So much negative posts trying to keep the game broken. I just don't get it.
The longer the game goes the more I wish they just released it as a solo pc game as most of my personal problems have been with other players, (trying to group, arsehats in chat/pugs, pvp imbalances and cheating players etc.)

I agreed with what you said up to this point. I'm a classic Elder Scrolls fan (not MMO). Love this game, and one of the reasons is the upbeat, friendly, courteous interactions I've had with other players in the game. It's great when you find a random player(s) and you team up and go to town on the baddies. The critical skill is being able to type fast in the chat window!

As someone who enjoyed thousands of hours of elder scrolls games, this just does not offer the same level of freedom, exploration and intrigue as a normal TES game, I can honestly say I think I have spent more time in the sp games than I will in TESO.
My one and only gripe, nothing to do with peer pressure or other games.
if i run into something in game that 'grinds my gears' i look at this screenie and it reminds me of all those 'epic' moments you experience playing ESO
