    I expected sarcasm. Pleasantly surprised.
Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

    XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

I haven't had mail spam in days.

It comes in spurts. A delete limit does nothing really.

It prevents the bot accounts from farming quests that award money on completion but require no mob kills.

Like the introduction quest in Hollow city(tour of the city). There used to be an endless stream of level 3 bots - they were created, ported to coldharbor (one acted as anchor for the 'travel to friend' function), did the intro quest, banked the ~300 gold reward, and were deleted, created again, repeat, over and over.

ZOS applied a bandaid to the quest a while ago (it no longer has a money reward), but the new change fixes this exploiting behavior globally.

There is a difference between being able to run a quest on one account 1000 times, and getting 1000 accounts to run the quest once on each.

I've had no mail spam for many, many weeks. It's pity this is too late to prevent the mass abuse by level 2s that happened weeks and months ago when level 2s by the thousands were being created and deleted per day to farm simple quests for gold using [snip] and tele-bots.

Frankly, I haven't even seen any bots in a while, not even in Coldharbour (which seems pretty dead, NA side). No problem grabbing nodes there. The closest I've seen since a bot fest in a lowbie public dungeon a month or so ago, was some multiboxer farming stuff in Reaper's March (and as far as I know, multiboxing is allowed? He wasn't interfering with anyone, anyway; if anything, he was clearing the way for others questing, lol.) Never saw heads sticking up out of the ground, unless they're better at tunneling now.

Last mail spam was last week, and was infrequent anyway.

That has nothing to do with them being professionals. It has to do with math. If you cannot see the difference, ill explain:

    - If you can do a 300g quest 1000 times per account, then you make 300.000g per account.

    - If you can do a 300g quest once per account, then you make 300g per account.

This change cut the RMT profits (from this particular activity) by a factor of 1000, regardless of how many accounts they have.

Yeah, I've only seen 'legit' players botting for many days, either XP trains or else those using bots in places like Bal Foyen.

I've seen a few obvious RMT mules at banks, tried to figure who was interacting with them but it's pretty impossible in crowded areas to see that.

Well, that doesn't quite have the same quite obvious solution but i'll get back to you.

Seriously though - that botters were using use once and throw away bots was known from the beginning. Restricting the ability to create infinite numbers of characters was not rocket science.

The point is - it's not clever. It was something that could have been done months previously.

hehe, he has a valid point though this would have been a very very simple thing to implement and was suggested by many.

While I'm glad it's been done, they should have made it a priority 3 months ago when the bots were in their heyday.

Edit: maybe if I'd had read the whole thread, I wouldn't be repeating things :)

Better late than never. Nothing to say bots won't attempt to return in large numbers again when expansions and the such eventually are released.

Also, as regular players with 8 character slots, who really needs to delete three times a day? Increasing the limit to 3 times a week still wouldn't bother us, but would further deny bots. I'd be cool with that. I'd even be okay with a limit of 3 deletes a month. And if you really need to delete more than 3 times a month, you're a milk-drinker (:D) and should be able to contact a gm or customer support - which would allow them to confirm that you are indeed not a bot.

I was doing far more deletes than that in a day just because I enjoy playing with character creators. I delete a character quite a few times before I end up making one I actually want to play with due to the fact that lighting in the character creation is teribad.

There haven't been many bots either. Like in other games, they tend to leave when the market dries up. You don't need a lot of gold in eso to begin with, and it's not worth buying a ton of accounts when there isn't a lot of demand.
