Do you think it would be better for the game to not have the name "Elder Scrolls" on it?

It can be the TES game. The world feels like the TES game world.
However, some things break the logic of this universe.
Of course, I mean the class system here. It is illogical that the same guy can't summon daedra and go invisible, for example.
If they can't balance all the skills and classes are needed to balance things out.. Okay then, let us switch between classes freely so we don't have to tediously level alts in order to see how each ability will do at the levelcap.

It might not be perfect, but this is Elder Scrolls world - and one of the reasons that so many people are in the game.

It would be better if it didn't have the genre MMO on it. Make it a massive multiplayer, but don't tell people that's what it is so you won't get the game hopper expectations coming in to ruin the game before they move on to the next new title.

You know it. The brand Elder Scrolls means A LOT in rpg world and it weights a lot. It is almost impossible to handle the spiirt of TES universe inside an mmorpg, as you can clearly see.

Most of us know the difference between ES and ESO.

There is a reason why ESO is not a follow up ...
As well it was communicated by officials.

No need to change a brand , that would be silly.

I disagree, I think the world definitely feels elder scrolls. I have learnt a lot more about ES lore from visiting all of the zones and a lot of the elements of elder scrolls are still in the game. Overall I enjoy the game and it has enriched my experience of the elder scrolls universe, so yes it deserves the name IMO :)

Too much to live up to. Too little to offer.
People keep telling me they're gonna buy me an ale. They never do.

There are only two things I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's culture. And the Elves.

I will be happy when they add Vvardenfell.THEN it will feel like an Elder Scrolls game to me,and live up to that title. If I wanted to play Skyrim,I'll go to Steam and play it.I am hoping to see Seyda Neen and Balmora,Vivac, and other beloved places show up in ESO.

Just to clarify: every Elder Scrolls game without Vvardenfell hasn't been an Elder Scrolls game?

That's just silly, Oblivion didn't have Vvardenfell, Skyrim didn't have Vvardenfell, Daggerfall didn't have Vvardenfell. Not sure about Arena. (Skyrim had Solstheim which was an islend off the coast of Vvardenfell, but not in it)

So the onlygame you feel is TES is Morrowind, pretty short series.

Having it be an Elder Scrolls game is not the problem.

There are only 2 real problems as I see it:
    1) The people who thought an MMO was going to be identical to the single player game.
    2) The MMO crowd who thought it would be WoW in Tamriel.

Those are the only 2 groups I see dislike the game. ESO is its own 'animal'. Its not a single-player game and will never have the immersive effect of a single-player game. Once you accept that fact, you can actually see ESO for all of its own great qualities.

ESO will also never be WoW (Thank You!). Its NOT a grind fest MMO where there is literally NOTHING to do in those games except level. Those games have shoddy and shallow stories and characters.

ESO is a GREAT story-telling MMO. Again, those that recognize that and play the game as if they are actually following a story... Love the game.

I quote you just to say Amen.

TESO is a unique animal, that shouldn't be compared with WoW nor with the other ES games.

Indeed by saying that is not an ES game, is tad daft. What is the difference between Oblivion, Skyrim and TESO? Only that the later is multiplayer.

Single player campaigns is there. The world & quests feel better (good example, phasing and acting). If people do one quest at the time as I do, and do not try to rush through, it does feel like an ES game.

It helps a lot, closing all chat at the same time when you want to play alone.

After all all those years, didn't we ask for a coop version of ES? If that isn't a coop version, what is then?

Some might argue with me, but I believe is because their mindset is already stuck that they do not like the game because of X reason, and rather bash it than see the good parts of it. Some even bash the game for no other reason, just because they want to bash it.

This is well made MMO except of poor level balance in PVP.

And it is like 5% TES game.

There is no reason for it to carry it's name.

TES games have FPS combat where arrow in a head inflicts massive damage. Sword swinds deal damage.

Combat in ESO is magic/skill based. You can even remove normal attacks as those are underpowered.

Game does not deserve to carry TES name as it ignored character development and it ignored combat. Two iconic features to TES games.

I voted yes only because I hate all elder scrolls series. I find elder scrolls online is far better game since there is RvR style pvp which I absolutely love, even though there are balance issues and veteran ranks flaws. Elder scrolls series are so bad games that I don't even want to play for a second. It obviously won't happen, but I wouldn't mind ESO drops the name of elder scrolls since I'm not a fan of the series in the first place.

    SACRILEGE!

What is the difference? obligatory classes: tragedy, limited exploration: level wall, dilluted lore: from architecture through creatures to Altmer turned silly hippies

world feels better? do you enjoy being limited? in ESO you move through leveling blocks. it is totally anti TES. you cannot go on your journey, you follow the one made for you.
I agree that phasing is a nice touch and the world should reflect your actions but you should have choice in that matter. in ESO I was forced to support total idiots who follow complete idiot queen (anti racist, anti bigot fool) in downgrading College of Aldmeri Propriety. I cannot side with proper, noble gentlefolk racists.

it is a Lorkhan itself, spitting in our faces with the limits we knew nothing about in the previous TES.

What a nonsense poll. Of course it is Elder Scrolls. The lore. The world. Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild coming. Mage's Guild. Heck, even M'aiq the liar hidden in zones.

Add to that bull netches, Atronachs, scheming Molag Bal, Dardric beings, planes of Oblivion, even the trademark humour!

Lorebooks too. Lots and lots of Lorebooks to read!

    These polls just get worse.

I agree, and will probably get flamed for it.I swear,..I've tried going for the end bit, with all those damn skeletons and the mage, several times,..up to level 35,and still get killed.(if ya dont know, this one quest is my pet peeve.) I DO know how to play a good game as well.I just wish we had to defeat only the amazingly immortal mage,..alone.OR the 12 skeletons. Makes me all weepy n whiney! WAAAAH! XD
    (Just kidding,guys!)
    Anyway,.I really will keep payin for it though. Sigh. If for no other reason than I am a dyed-in-the-wool ES fan,..forever,no matter what goes wrong.Gotta support what I asked for all those years ago.The ES MMO.Now that I got it,..I cant bail on em,can I? :}

Having amazing lore backing a game (not to mention one that already has a huge following like ES) is half the battle in the mmoworld.
