The 30% spellpower bonus doesn't work for restro staff?

And all this time I kept throwing down extended ritual to buff my staff's regeneration for the group. i guess it's time I actually get an add-on that shows some real numbers. :D

Yeah I was disappointed when I found this out too.

He uses class skills from all three classes, so even if you respec to create his build, if you haven't levelled up all three classes for Templar to low 30's to 40's levels, you're not going to be able to select some of his build skills.

I'll give his build a go, even if it means I'll have to grind up some levels in Dawn's Wrath but it's not an ideal solution for everyone.

He what? Or you mean class skills trees?
Sure, everyone must maximize his character BEFORE complaining!

So basically you're a troll then.

100% troll, check his post history. Or just read his posts, obvious troll is obvious.

Yes there is a way for templars to spike 1200 dps. If you have 4 mobs at same VR level as you. You spam Solar Barrage - Brawler, making sure all 4 mobs are in front of you.

However you will die because you cannot shrug off the 900 damage from the light attacks (minus 400 from the bubble) you receive at that time.

While we need to do around 3000 on v5 mobs to kill them. EACH.

If a Templar is V12... and hasn't used Templar healing skills since level 15... how can you trust anything they have to say about Templar healing skills? :|

Magicka regen on a Templar is a PITA. They either need to reduce all magicka cost for templar skills or give them a much better magicka passive regen. Current magicka costs are ridiculous.

However, in terms of the classes, right now it's still DK (by an extremely large margin)>>>>>>>>Sorc>>>Temp>NB. DK's damage is still way over the top than any sorc or any other class with more CC's and survivability available.

A real nice change to address the magic regen problem could be the use of retribution skill replacing magic as well as stamina/health. This would be a good start and a skill that could be used anytime with bodies on the ground and cost nothing from the magic pool to cast. Increase the area and allow partial to overlap to other players in the AOE.

Of course this does not address the dps problem or armoring problems.

I think you mean "Repentance" but yeah, thats great for group farming in pve. But what about pvp? Unless your running with a zerg rolling over small groups, this would do nothing.

What would be nice however is if they just gave us the old restoring spirit back, and lowered the value.

I too had alot of trouble with my templar untill around vr6, when I discovered the power of spell critical and blazing shield. I have an omni build: high aoe DPS, tanking capabilities and healing at the same time. It can become a little bit repetitive so I tend to swap weapons and do random setups alot, but when the fight gets real I always swap back to this setup:

Structured Entropy - More health/magicka/magicka regen
Blazing Shield - Main focus of my setup, shields you and returns 50+% of damage received in a cone
Honor the Dead - Instant cast heal that refunds about 70% of the mana used over 8 seconds and has very high crit chance when used at low health (my 'oh shet' button)
Healing springs - Area heal, which is really efficient if combined with spell critical since it gives loads of ultimate points and mana refund per target affected (so great for groups, if solo then repentance for more stam/health regen and a quick mana-free heal after killing something)
Inner Light - Again more magicka but also 20% spell crit

Ulti - Whatever you like most ;-)

Restoration staff - Since your mana regen is lost during the shield being active, you definitly need to heavy attack with a resto staff to sustain your magicka pool.

Stat attributes - 0-49-0:blazing shield is stronger if you have more health

It's important to horde as much spell critical as you can (use twilight and willows set!) Also I use 7 light armor pieces with magicka enchants (white glyphs) and use jewelry that gives me armor+armor+fire resist.

With this setup I only use the blazing shield skill when playing solo, keeping blazing shield up at all times. When fighting packs of mobs in craglorn, the strenght of the shield becomes insane and with the high spell crit your damage will go over the 1.000 per target (with downside that the aoe is glitchy and hard to aim, takes some practise).

Yesterday I managed to succesfully become the 'savior of nirn', soloing the three dolmens in Reaper's March (vr10 zone) using this setup. If you're having trouble with your templar, I suggest giving this a try!

Otherwise, the templar has loads of utility skills that are great for many situations, making it hard to compare them with other classes. If a templar runs into a super golden vr12 emperor sorcerer with the best possible set and buffs/bonuses, all the templar has to do is cast eclipse and the powerfull shard will simply direct right back at himself :) For the amazing Dragon Knight talons we simply have to hit our cleanse and not only is everybody in the area out of the crowd control, they also gain around 200-300 health! Even for the occasional Nightblade dual wielder we only have to cast searing light to make them hit themselves and on occasion even lose their balance, waiting for us to push them down.

Concluding, every class has it's benefits, you just gotta figure them out.

Also, this post just became way too long, sorry for that x-)

Templar can pretty much destroy all trash mobs with just empowering sweep+puncturing sweep, at least that's what I've found running around in Craglorn.

In pvp it really is a L2P issue as put so many comments back. Granted it is really tough since a templar pretty much has to have a different loadout for every class.

VS melee opponents blazing shield + magicka pots and/or channeled focus and/or harness magicka(lvled up) is pretty effective. I like to try and keep rapid regen up with this as well. For damage it depends on the opponent. biting jabs or puncturing sweep can be abused if you catch your opponent in a stun(knockback) lock. There is purifying light that can be used with blazing spear or binding/auroura javelin and dark flare. Soul assault will almost be required to deal the killing blow though.

VS ranged casters what you must not do is get knocked down.
Those siphon nightblades and other casters eclipse and harness magicka is a must. Have a gap closer isn't bad either. Spells like javelin are a must to stop those hard hitting spells from getting off. The one thing you must not do is get knocked down.

VS cc happy players simply out sustaining them is key, simple but not so easily done.

That is how I've been playing and I've experienced mixed results. Things like timing and mis-clicks are definite factors that could be deciding factors.

I've only played with dual resto staffs so you SnB, Two Handers, etc., templar out there tell me what I'm missing.

To come back to first post: With two healer (and every major pvp group has two healers) it is quite easy to use Equilibrium, just by getting healed by s.o. else. (Of course you need skilled healers that have an eye on the group-window every moment^^). Using Equilibrium costs just time.
