Graphics Mods that will work for windows 8.1?

Does anyone know of any mods like SweetFX that will work on Windows8.1? I've tried all day to get SweetFX 1.5 to work and something goes wrong and come to find out it's not compatible with windows 8.1! I would love to enhance it some more. I'm using MSI Afterburner already and did some Mild OC of my 650ti but nothing crazy. Running a consistent 45-55 FPS set on high everything. I really just want to be able to tweak the saturation and get rig of that "white haze" that seems to cover the game and all the colors. I've seen videos on SweetFX working on 8.1 but no walkthrough on actually setiing it up and links to make it work either!

I run SweetFX on Windows 8.1 through RadeonPro. Not sure if a Geforce counterpart to that program exists or not though.

I got the radeon pro and it gave me a walkthrough for running the sweet FX 1.5.1, it's the only version I guess that will work for 8.1. Downloaded everything it said to and when it tells me to enable sweetFX intergration I do then it tells me to find the folder for the 1.5.1 DL which is a .rar file. When I look it's not there. extracted everything and still doesn't work.

Odd, I just unrar'd to it's own directory under RadeonPro, then pointed it to look there. Setup the game in RadeonPro (make sure you direct it to the main game .exe) and then setup Launcher (to the launcher's .exe) make sure Enable SweetFX is checked and select which tweaks you want.

My sweetFX dir looks something like this

    I:\RadeonPro\SweetFX\

I know it's a crazy question but how did you un-rar it? All it told me to do was unzip it and I figured that would have done it but when I tried to point it where to go it wasn't there! That's the problem is I can't find the right SweetFX 1.5.1 file I guess. The one I found was here: http://ge.tt/4CpDyZt/v/0. It's a legit link and file. The page and directions I got were here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1485750/how-to-use-sweetfx-in-windows-8-1.

You need Winrar not Winzip. I had that problem at first too.

Unrar is the same as unzip its just another program to do it. Unzip with winzip, Unrar with Winrar.

I don't use sweetfx so I can't help you with that part but I do have a possible alternative. Something called Esolauncher by Sorien.

    http://www.gamemodi.net/

You can find some screenshots of the changes it makes on the site.

One of its options is to disable the fog in the distance which, depending on what you mean by "white haze", should solve your issue without sweetfx. The second option that might be relevant to you is the shader filters it has. It also has a few other features like an FOV editor for first person but the options are listed on the site.

Its the left download link you want if you end up trying it. If you have any issue setting it up leave me a message and ill help.

I just tried to DL the ESO launcher and my Norton 360 says that it's a bad file and security risk? I'm assuming it's because there are not many people that use it so it doesn't have a high score on their reputation site. I'm going to search for another site and see if that works.

Ok yeah its a mod effectively done by one guy who created his own website so yeah norton thinks its suspicious. I can tell you its fine with no virus however whether you want to trust me is entirely up to you.

I can link you a 27 page forum post by the author on tamriel foundry that say nothing but good about the guy. In fact the latest patch broke the launcher and he has already fixed it.

I don't use Norton myself but AVAST was not concerned by it. If Norton is just warning you then you may have the option to ignore it and download it anyway.

I've checked and i can't find any other download options.

Your options are ignore Norton if you can or switch it off for the duration of the download or uninstall norton and get another AV.

I'm going to give it another shot tonight. I am just going to turn Norton off for a minute so I can DL it and start running it. Thanks for the info and I did read a ton of stuff on the program and it sounds awesome!

Have a look at ESO Launcher @ http://www.gamemodi.net/

    Increase/Decrease Object Draw Distance
    Increase/Decrease Field of View (1st / 3rd)
    Force All High Quality Models
    Disable Fog
    Enable Stereoscopic 3D
    Enable Shader Filters
    Sweet FX Compatible

1.2.3 Compatible, I was able to "force all high quality models" and in some zones like Reapers March it was absolutely jaw dropping how amazing the game looked and ran. However in Stormhaven it hit my FPS hard enough that I had to disable that setting. It was really hit and miss which zones my old 6970 could handle at such high level of detail. Still, check out the screenshots at the link, it sure is nice to ditch that fog.

This next link is to the original thread when the launcher was released 2 months ago @ TamrielFoundry forums.

EDIT: oops, just realized this had already been discussed...

No worries. I tried the.whole Sweet Fx deal and cannot get it to work for anything! I was really looking forward to it but it either wouldnt load or had some kind of issue or I did run it once but it didn't change anything and just kept crashing the game.

I haven't been able to get Sweetfx to work at all. I've tried 15 different combos, V1.4, matched it with RadeonPro and tried like 20 different presets. Honestly I've probably put 30+hours into screwing with it and it never worked. I think I'm just going to make a run with the ESO launcher alone so hopefully I'll get a little something out of it. Its already a beautiful game especially for a MMO but like most people I always enjoy pushing my rig a little further and like to see what else I can get out of the game.
