Wtf is going on there, rollbacks, crazy lag, disconnects, its not my computer, nor my connection,it dosent seem to be a memory leak either according to my memory manager, i disabled all addons and still same issue.

What to do?

I'd go for rage qiut if i were you
It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt,
It lies behind stars and under hills,
    And empty holes it fills,
It comes first and follows after,
    Ends life, kills laughter.

I have given up and I;m going do something else with my free time until the next patch and try to play again.

I do not believe anything will happen over the weekend. It appears this game is only fully supported Mon-Fri 9am-5pm EST.

I agree mate, this game is currently broken. Rollbacks and disconnects in cyrodiil...not to mention the fps drops. Shameful ZOS...

One thing i have noticed is that there seems to be lingering particle effects left on the ground, like a yellow ball of light, and it just permentally stays there, i notice them all over the place, i wonder if thats what causing the lag, to many effects leaving ghosts behind.

Do these guys work on the weekends? Gw2 had issues when there was huge zerg balls colliding lag wise, but what im experincing in eso is 10x worse even small battles.

Just tried cyrodiil again this morning, same crap 10 mins in and game turns into a slide show, log out login its fine for a bit, its feels like a memory leak, but when i check to see how much mem is being used its normal wtf.....

I've noticed this as well. This latest issue seems to have some things in common with a memory leak (and most seem to have settled into calling it a memory leak) but in all of the posts over this issue there is something lacking, any mention of a massive spike in memory usage.

Every single time I've had experience with a memory leak, my memory usage would gradually raise from a normal scenario of around 30%, up to 96% or so, and a slide show of FPS would commence. Yet I'm not seeing posts of ESO causing these gradual increases of memory use over time leading up to nearly 100% memory allocation.

Without that symptom being present, I have a hard time calling it a memory leak. In my opinion it is something else entirely...hell, I wouldn't even be surprised to find out it's related to disk thrashing in at least some of these cases.

The bug seems to be related to the changes in the dynamic lighting system. Light sources from particle effects do not extinguish like they should, but linger for a very long time after the effect ends. This creates hundreds of extraneous light sources after a while, especially at the sites of large and intense battles, and the game engine slows to a crawl.

The memory is not an issue. There is no formal leak, just an uncontrolled growing list of small local light sources. Long before the memory is exhausted, the light sources become too many for the graphics engine to handle at a reasonable frame rate. Some graphics cards and drivers have a slow and gradual degradation, while some may hit a hard limit when the number of light sources increase above a certain threshold.

It's a stupid bug, and it should be easy to fix. I do not even understand how a bug like this could hit the live game. Can we please have less fancy fluff, more testing before patches go live, and more attention to the core issues with this game?

I think you are correct about the dynamic lighting, hope they fix this soon.

lol, I was accused of "complaining too much" when I suggested the concern that the "improved graphic" may come at the expense of performance.

This game needs optimization, don't add patch work contents or features if it degrades the performance.

you are both wrong, but good attempt

check your GPU performance before and after the fps drop

the game drop the GPU usage completly

GPU usage goes to zero, if what you say is true the gpu will be overloaded

or maybe you are right and all that light crash the gpu in game

    dont know really

There's a memory leak for sure, with 8 gigs of ram I watch my Ram start around 35% used and slowly creep up till it's almost 70% used. My GPU and CPU seem fine.

It's almost comical that the lighting changes that were implemented despite no one asking for them are the cause of the lag and FPS drop. I swear whoever prioritizes issues at ZOS is completely out of their league and should be fired for incompetence.

They probably still have a little bit more of our money left over to burn before they start replacing the incompetent ones.

It wasn't acceptable before. It's been sub-par since Craglorn and we've been asking for fixes. What we got, instead, was something that made it so bad that the previous pile of dung now seems preferable. It hasn't been great since before 1.1. Now it's just stupid.

We're working on tracking down the additional causes of FPS drops (particularly in Cyrodiil) that today's fix did not resolve.

Not just Cyrodil. Doing a Dolmen my CPU maxed, GPU dropped to 50%, and I couldn't see any monsters. FPS was fine, 20fps, I could see spells and area effects, but not any spawning monsters. Relogging fixed it, but only til the next spawn. Something is horribly wrong with this patch and my system.

If the only change in 1.2.3 in rendering was the lighting change, any chance of a tickbox to switch it off in graphics settings so we can get a playable game back if our graphics card doesn't like it ?

I've read that people have turned it off (must be a config file somewhere to alter) and it doesn't fix the issues.

This is probably what is causing the fps issue, maybe they should just disable the new changes to see if it fixes the problem, yes it looks all nice and pretty but if there was an option to turn it off i would do so and i think so will many other ppl also.
    Patch 1.2.3 nerfed the game....
    Zergballing wrecked pvp......

Zenimax you really need to get your act together because this patch did not fix anything and in fact broke even more of the game for me! TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!

Forget about the stupid lighting, forget about adding any more VR content, and fix the FPS and lag issues like you have been promising! We're tired of the workarounds and the crashes and the memory leaks and the relogging and being told to lower graphic settings. Are we really just paying you guys to continuously put out broken software while our game time runs down?

Do we have to wait yet another week for the next patch which may or may not actually fix anything? You guys better get it together FAST before you lose a lot more customers.

The ridiculous thing about this patch that busted the game is that the main content that caused the patch to be so large is a vet dungeon that no one is playing. They spend so much time creating content for a tiny, tiny proportion of their subscriber base. Like Craglorn. What percentage of people have even set foot there? 2%?
