The IP's history created a bunch of hoarders can I please have some more bank space

Dear ZOS developers

Morrowind, Obilvion, Fallout and Skyrim all had their amusing junk. All of those games let you pick things up that you saw and interact with the world the way you wanted to and to create mountains of junk if you wanted to. In other words the previous titles of the products of Beth (and the IP name you are trading on) included an addictive element of hoarding. That is a part of the player base you are catering to, quite a large part based on polls on this forum.

With the latest patch you have given us the ability to pick more things up in the world and to craft a lot of different items which are all great, but without the storage space available to store and share items between alternates for crafting, researching and leveling you are cramping the style of our hoarding ways.

One of the busiest areas in each zone whenever I log on is the circle of people around the banker doing the inventory shuffle. I'd like to spend more time out in the world enjoying the scenery or crafting items to use for the next battle and a lot less time standing in front of a banker moving items around so that I can send a character out without needing to send them back again after they have looted 4 chests. I don't like going into banks in the real world I don't need to be doing in a game as well, this isn't the Sims we are playing here.

Can you please give us more bank spaces so that we can store all of our stuff more easily. Can you also please do it before the justice system so the sticky fingered players can loot to their hearts content.

Kind regards

Curra the Crafting Altoholic Hoarder

Great, thanks for reminding me. Now I want to have my epic quality alchemical refractory and distillation line that I had in Morrowind back. IN MY OWN HOME. WITH MY OWN PILES OF LIBRARY OF BOOKS. AND SHELVES UPON SHELVES of self-brewed potions.

...I feel like I just got mugged in memory lane.

My last character in Skyrim hoarded everything she found worth keeping, up to level 40, in the chest at the thieves guild ... I swear there was more stuff in that single chest than there's available spaces in the whole of my ESO account.

I agree. We need more bank spaces, and bigger backpacks too.

Edit : Yes, a home too ! with all crafting amenities and a personal chest (so each character can safeguard his own favourite loot) :D

Opinions are like buttholes : Everybody has one, and they usually stink.

    3 things to reduce stamina/magicka imbalance :
    - Use magicka to block abilities costing magicka, instead of stamina.
    - Add % damage reduction to heavy armor.
    - Add block penetration to 2H.

Of course you can have more bank space! Every banker sells space in every major town :)

My Riften house is full of Skulls. Every bookshelf, every desk, chest, table, even the bed is covered in Human and Troll Skulls. I somehow lie down delicately that they don't move from their position while I sleep.

Maybe ESO is the cure for the hoarders :D

True I have done this a lot in my ES history too, anything that I thought that I might someday need I stored and man did I have stuff that I never touched :D

Another thing with ES and Fallout games has been that you pick up everything so you could sell those and since weight was also issue it was calculated the weight/money ratio.

The lootables we now got has 0 value except maybe we like to pick something up and wear and RP or something. They should at least have the value of 1 so there would be point picking them up and then with all bags full going to sell those.

because the bank space is shared to all accounts I think it should be reviewed.

I would like to see the starting storage space increased and even maybe paid increase to be 20 rather than 10. There are so many tradeskill items in the game that there no way to store without making 7 alts and filling them up.

Either that or some kind of separate storage area for tradeskills items that do not use the bank space.

Yes, I would really like each of my characters to have their own bank space. Seems odd starting a new character and there's already crap in it from another character.

It takes away from the "starting a new game feeling" because I already know the only place this new character would have to store things in is already full.

This is by design. At least it was stated as an intentional limitation to force people into making a choice: not try to be a jack of all trades, but to collaborate in guilds to craft stuff. The unreasonable research times for the last few traits on armor and weapons is another sign of this. You will not be able to craft set items requiring 6 traits or more of every single armor type until after you have spent a year of watching the research timers tick. You should specialize. People tend to do it all by themselves anyway, and it is possible, but it is not the fastest or most efficient way of doing it.

Having said that, yes, I think the storage space is a little too constraining right now, or at least the storage management tools are too limited and too time consuming to use. Perhaps we should have separate bag spaces (still limited and constraining, but separate) for general loot and for crafting materials? And I wouldn't mind if crafting materials somehow went magically straight into the bank without me having to make frequent visits to town to store them. It would be unreasonable from a role playing perspective, but my visits to the bank are far too frequent and last for too long, and I have way too many pack mule characters.

So instead we just spread crafting over 2 toons and storage over 4 alts. EZ PZ. Just like the crafts themselves. The only real limitation this brings is not being able to roll more alts. But you can get around that by actually playing your mules. And if you want more toons you can spend a WHOLE 15 bucks a month more and have 8 fresh slots that you can then craft for from your other account with your "Jack of all trades" crafters.

Hell was paved with good intentions. This system is moronic and nothing more than a constant irritation on the level of having to walk to a filing cabinet and shuffling papers several times a day.

Either limit crafting by making it challenging in a fun way or get off the commode, IMO.

Oh and I've been playing for 2 months and I have 4 traits in everything, can make six trait sets for my main, and estimate should have 8 traits in everything when I hit the 6 months mark, give or take, if not before.

This storage limitation really isn't one. It's just an annoying PITA.

Well according to ZOS we could possibly maybe have housing around 2 years from now. More bank space? My guess is that they are holding off on that until F2P....

I agree it is no real limitation. I'm doing 4 crafts on one character without any real problem (other than having to get shards in higher zones sometimes because I'm out leveling the zone I'm in). I don't see the bank space as a limit on my ability do multiple crafts it is just really annoying for no apparent good reason.

If I had only one character I think the bank space would be fine but as soon as you get more than one character you need more bank space to be able to hold materials for the multiple characters. I wanted to play within the intended mechanics but after bankrupting three characters to buy another set of only 10 more bank spots I had to create an alternate mule to hold thinks for me and become the bank slots I was missing. I hate having to do it but I don't really have an option with the limited bank space we are given.

I think if you made it 15 slots per purchase (probably preferable) or if you gave us an additional 20 bank slots if we add a new character I think it would make it a lot easier for me to store things.

I see some people saying this when talked about bank, but question is then how do you transfer stuff between your characters? Of course the could enable mailing between chars under account but that's also bit hassle given you can only mail 6 items at time.

I like that it is shared bank, it makes it so much easier. I gather mats that the other char uses just bank them, found items that other char could use in research just bank them, found better potions than previous but other char could use those just bank them.

Separate banks. DAoC, for example, has a "Vault" for each character and an "Account Vault" that is shared between all of them.
