I'm not disputing that it's efficiency is bad. But if you are having trouble in a 1v1 vs. an elite, it's my default. The damage Blazing Shield puts out is ancillary to the fact that it is a shield and increases survivability. Healing is always reactive where this is completely proactive. You can whittle almost anything down (albeit slowly) with resto staff spam and Blazing Shield 1v1.

When you are talking about multiple targets, then that's something different.

    Step1: get a crossbow
Step 2: shoot em in their knee
Step 3: make sure they get to their city guard post the next day

Try to use Restoration staff with Rune Focus and Breath of Life, the damage mitigation from that ability is very usefull against the Gargoyle attacks and move out of the circle when it does its AoE, when the Gargoyle stops its AoE just go back in the circle or cast a new one, its very cheap.

Use Breath of Life to recover most of your health when it goes to a low threshold.

And use Vampire Bane DoT to increase your dmg output while you regenerate magicka with your staff heavy attack.

The combat is going to last for a while but you should be fine.

very slowly. the way i done it was by using my bow (one of the actual uses for bow in vet mode) since they can be knocked back i just alternated between spear and scatter shot with poison arrow and vampires bane till it died.

as long as you have enough of one resource to keep it knocked back it cant kill you. it's just mindlessly slow and boring and you need a bit of room

Sorry Gargoyles are immune to movement impairing effects and roots... the way to take it down is to either... take it where it is... or kite with ranged abilities.

Please do your field work before answering threads, but the effort is naturally appreciated, and yes there is a couple of gargoyles in game story wise you can push away, but in general it is not an option.

On my DK I take it head to head, on my NB... I either kite it with a bow yes real kiting since pushbacks wont work... or spin around it damaging it or a combination of both.... the did invent sprint for more than just running away.
