SKILL POINTS and RESPECTing

OK, so I tried to post this issue yesterday but what came out was garbled crud. Ever write with a 9 year old screaming in your ear? I don't recommend it. Anyways, with the large amount of skill changes I expected Zen to reset the affected skills and allow us to re-choose what we wanted. After all, if they came to the conclusion that a skill morph was bad enough to remove and replace with a completely new option, then chances are there were not a lot of characters that chose that morph to begin with. And of course there is the fact that we all made our choices based on the original options. Now there is a never before see option that might be better than our existing choice if we had been given the ability to see into the future and pick it on anticipation. In simple terms Zen, if you change the skill, reset our points. You know, like you did with the first big patch. Why this was not done this time baffles me. Of course why you all do many of the things you do baffles me. And since I'm on the subject, lets discuss the cost of resetting skills. I think 100 gold per point is a reasonable amount. What I don't think is reasonable is the fact that I have to rest everything for just one change. Oh, I know, I could just suck it up and continue using a morph that does not fit my play-style instead of paying the 8600 gold to reset my entire skill list. After all my poor choice was my fault. It was not influenced by poorly written tool-tips or undermined by completely changing one or both morphs. The solution to this rather long and unnecessary problem is simple. Allow us to reset per line. Want to change something in dark magic, then pay to reset just dark magic. Want to change two handed, them pay for just two handed. And if you want to reset all of your skills you still have that option. See, that was easy.

PS For the love of &@# and everything that is holy please include a text size adjustment for your in-game feedback window. Or just make it bigger and lose the stylized lettering. I shouldn't have to press my face to the screen so I can read it. Bug reports and feedbacks are important, treat them as such.

The changes in no way limited or reduced the effectiveness of any skills. What I've noticed is everyone is more powerful or effective to balance out classes that were underpowered compared to others.

There was no need to reset skill choices as everyone is either the same or better. Thats what I've noticed Templar, Nightblade and Sorc.

Perhaps the DK assumed they were loosing effectiveness from the wording of the updates but the patch notes do not suggest this.

This. They have refunded points in the past only where there is a clear and significant reduction in the ability or a virtual rework of the ability.

Would explain the interesting choice of Typesetting as well…

Said this before, nail us 100g per point if we want to do the whole shooting match... but give us the option to pay 1,000g or something to just wipe a single skill tree. Would stop all the complaining.

Sorry bud, if you can't take the time to use paragraphs or at least the occasional space between lines, I can't take what you're saying seriously or read your wall of text without squinting. Please don't take this as an insult. Just constructive criticism so your future posts are easier to read :)

To respec right now would cost me13,600 Septims. I only want to drop two lines for something else, and that's a lot of grinding :\

    It's Re-Spec'ing.

So, the lack of such a free respec indicates these changes are trivial and ZOS don't expect them to have a meaningful impact on the game.

    Have I got that right?

I got a refund for Deadly Bash once and there were a few other skills in that patch that were refunded.

So, on topic: I didn't read that wall of text, but a refund would be nice for skills which changed in a significant way. Like Igneous Shield in my case, it's now intended for a completely different role.

The problem isn't just a point or two.
Many are now designing chars around certain skills only to find the Dev's completely change them later.
Full respec's should be offered now not just point replacements or they should remove the cost of respec'ing until they finish dicking around with peoples char builds....

The changes in no way limited or reduced the effectiveness of any skills.
This. They have refunded points in the past only where there is a clear and significant reduction in the ability or a virtual rework of the ability.

It still makes sense though to refund a skill point for significant changes to a morph that aren't a complete reworking, such as adding a self-heal to Puncturing Sweep or having Refreshing Path heal others in addition to the caster. If they don't offer refunds, then they don't and life goes on, no big deal. But if people took one morph because the other wasn't nearly as good or useful, and now the devs have reworked that poorer choice, why not encourage people to try it? That's the part that doesn't make sense to me as it is easy to do with no harm or unfairness.

Refunding a single point to give people the option to try a redesigned morph (i.e. changes to the mechanics that are not just a buffs or nerfs in some base number value for things like skill cost, existing effect, range, etc) says "Hey, we've listened and worked hard to make things better, come on and try this!", especially regarding skill changes for classes where many people have shelved their characters out of frustration or to play a better balanced or more popular class.

I don't see the argument against doing something so small when it could potentially generate increased interest and enthusiasm. Again, if it doesn't happen, oh well, but what's the downside to it?

    Really? When?

they did once for the last skill 2 weapons. When they nerfed it. They were a little proffessional in that time *sry speaking french* (french poeple on teso like to have their pants down, without vaseline)

They come on ur topic to say how fun and good the game is, when u were telling the bug are killing ur gameplay.

But i agree, without the gold from end of campaign, i would have lost my both PvP character, since i collect 14 600 and 20 900 gold.

I had re-roll my DK for 20 900 gold, 9-10 days before that "super" patch removed the shield who's damaging poeple at the end cuz it was always dismounting me.

They put my new evo, instead greater shield, greating heal... For my PvP DK... wtf
    no refund skills...
