The patch notes said that the armor and weapons that you see lying around in the world could now be picked up, but they would be worthless (monetarily) but could be used as gear in a pinch. It said nothing about adding these items to the loot tables, though, as far as being in boxes and bags. I'd report that. That seems off.
I mean roleplay as in, "Oh this piece of weapon/armour is great, it will help me establish an identity for my character which I can then use to play out imaginative storylines with my friends with more diversity in appearance among our characters, making for a more immersive and realistic environment."
OMG really? I know they made all the tutorial stuff 0g. Not really sure why, seems like a odd move, but I hope this doesn't mean we are going to see 'junk' all over the place now. *sigh*

I was thinking more like, 'I just killed this bandit, now I'm going to loot his stuff and sell it'.
This isn't a change - it's a new feature for this patch. There were previously no armor or weapons that you could find inside interactable objects or laying around. Remember, you don't have to pick these up.MasterSpatula wrote: »ZOS_GinaBruno wrote: »You're correct in that assumption, @Bookwyrm. I can't for the life of me figure out why you guys would ever make this change. I'm not home from work yet to try this out, but I'm really worried this will increase the nuisance factor of inventory management in a game whose awful inventory management issues are already a running gag--as well as increase the rarity of items that are already too rare by a tremendous margin.
Chests that you lockpick to open? No, those still contain valuable items.Curragraigue wrote: »ZOS_GinaBruno wrote: »You're correct in that assumption, @Bookwyrm. I assume by interactable you don't mean chests as well @ZOS_GinaBruno ?
Do these drops take the space of any other drops (e.g. recipes and motifs), or are they completely additional?ZOS_GinaBruno wrote: »This isn't a change - it's a new feature for this patch. Yes, thanks I wanted to know about chests as opposed to trunks, barrels, nightstands...
Hate to waste my time lockpicking for no valuable reward.
As was confirmed on the second page of this thread, that part is a bug.Shaun98ca2 wrote: »ZOS_GinaBruno wrote: »This isn't a change - it's a new feature for this patch. Well you are now finding the "crap" EVERY where nightstands, cabinets, crates you name it. That's part of the issue people are having.
It was to increase immersion but all it did was create a new found frustration. I guess all the devs can do at this point is make the SEEN item obtainable and the rest hidden stuff remove.

Really cause I could use to loose some lockpicks cause they aren't worth ANYTHING.

Who asked for this and why? Even in VR zones? Storage is such a prime issue and you do this?

It would make sense if it had value, but it's worthless junk.

Honestly, I feel the opposite. It makes more sense to make it worthless so you're not tempted to hold onto it and waste valuable bag space. It's more like "Oh, that piece of gear is worth nothing, ignore and move on...oh look a blue piece in that chest I found, and I have a space for it!"
But I long since turned off auto-loot...:P
I mean roleplay as in, "Oh this piece of weapon/armour is great, it will help me establish an identity for my character which I can then use to play out imaginative storylines with my friends with more diversity in appearance among our characters, making for a more immersive and realistic environment."

I don't see that it's confirmed as a bug.
