Dream-Walk into Darkness (open question)

Customer service has been so far unable to help me with this so I'm opening this for public discussion.

This quest has us explore Count Verandis Ravenwatch's memories. After a somewhat long bit of dialogue, his memories take us to the Doomcrag where the story of the Montclairs is supposed to be clarified. Upon arrival at the Doomcrag, there is supposed to be another bit of dialogue and then everybody moves in for a fight.

The questline order at this point is:

-"Talk to Verandis" (at mansion)
-Loading Doomcrag
-"Listen to the Montclairs"
-"Defeat the Ancient Warriors"

What happens for me however is that it jumps directly from "Talk to Verandis" to "Defeat the ancient warriors" without triggering the "Listen to the Montclairs" dialogue, so the fight itself does not trigger either.

Here is what I have tried so far:

-dropping the quest and coming back later (I've done all the other quests and am now progression-blocked)
-dropping the quest, wayshrine somewhere else and do /camp (which logs you out and clears the game cache) and wait 15 minutes for a soft reboot
-disabled addons
-reloaded he UI /reloadui
-repairing my install
-tried grouping and getting it through quest haring
-tried it from a friend's computer

All to no avail.

Help?

It could be a bug, but no one else seems to have the issue... so maybe not a server side problem.

I can say that it's not a computer issue either. I tried it on a friend's computer and got the same issue. What would be the odds of two computers in two different households on two different networks could have the same problem that would cause for that to happen?

What does it leave? Account corruption? It could explain why no one else has it, and would happen whatever computer I use. Maybe?

I hope if it is account corruption, that you can get it fixed fast

I'd at least like for someone in charge to weigh in on this.

Perhaps @ZOS_GinaBruno‌ could succeed where others in the mail-based service department failed. She always seems to, anyway. :)

Or perhaps I'll get them to call me on the phone. Harder to dodge an issue on the phone, and they won't make me wait for hours for a reply if I'm on the line.

I'm getting the same problem - jumps right into "Defeat the Ancient Warriors." The way this quest is bugged, they're going to be getting a lot more ancient before I have a chance to deal with them. Hope they fix this soon.

I have the same issue, the Montclairs don't talk and the ancient warriors never show up. This blocks a complete area that you cant access otherwise. Also stops the trigger for a whole bunch of further quests so cant complete Rivenspire.

Moved on to Alki'r Dessert and then Bangkorai, but that was with a teleport to the group dungeon in Alki'r.

Now V5 and running out of quests to do in Bangkorai. Waiting for my mate to get to Rivenspire as well so we can at least try the quest together to see if that works as it has for some other players.

Most annoyingly I have put in several tickets over the last week without a response from customer support.

This is obviously a big bug for many players looking at the forum.

    Come on customer support!

It would be great if he can write it here how he fixed it for you, I've been having this bug for over a week now and the customer support hasn't come up with a fix :/

@gordo567‌ Customer support staff have different levels of access to troubleshooting tools.

About a week ago, I asked for service over phone and ran support through all the possible fixes that could be done from my end with them. Recognizing there was nothing more I could do on my end, my ticket was "escalated" to someone with proper access. Why that took a week is beyond me as the actual fixing by someone who had proper access was a matter of minutes.

What he did? He used a GM character, triggered the ancients fight and "summoned" me there. I did the battle and the quest chain resumed properly.

I had the exact same issue. Turned out an incomplete group dungeon quest - Noble's Rest in Direfrost Keep, Eastmarch - was the cause. Customer support asked me to complete it but I just abandoned it and restarted Dream-Walk and that worked.
