I know that comment was for the OP. But a few more sips of Crown Royal sounds good to me also.

    Thanks I will.
it will get better. you guys have no faith what so ever lolol

Hopefully true. But this is a subscription game, and that limits the time they can take to address big problems IMO.

i will agree with you there.

there should be a better sense of urgency :\

And by packed you mean empty. The lower level starter zones have players but packed is not how I would define them. I was in the VR9 zone tonight talking to the 3 other players who responded to zone chat and they echoed the same thing...empty for weeks.

I wish the game was a full at launch now. I wish this game was not what the developers envisioned and what we expected but it is not. So with that we have to hope things iron out over the next month or two in hopes that players return to a much improved game.

There such a gap between people thinking its not empty and those that know it for a fact, they know it for a fact because they see it, ever day. 1-50 might have enough people around, but V3+ sure as hell doesn't, even on craglorn its empty compared to what it was.

The game isnt dead, but it sure as hell aint alive either, and anyone without rose tinted colored glasses can see that. Iam confident to say 50% of the players have stopped playing since release. I am basing this of my own personal experience of daily playing, from 1-V12, from trading to collecting.
    Why do people complain?

VR zones are what's dead.. Questing in enemy factions under some ludicrous time travel, alternate reality premise does not appeal to the masses. Most players have realized how bad VR enemy factions are and spend their time in Craglorn, Cyrodiil, playing alts or just quit playing. Wonder when the Devs are gonna catch on and do something about it??

    A customer enters the forums.

Mr. Praline: 'Ello, I wish to register a complaint.

    (The owner does not respond.)

    Mr. Praline: 'Ello, Miss?

Owner: What do you mean "miss"?

Mr. Praline: (pause)I'm sorry, I have a cold. I wish to make a complaint!

    Owner: We're closin' for lunch.

Mr. Praline: Never mind that, my lad. I wish to complain about this game what I purchased not half an hour ago from this very boutique.

Owner: Oh yes, the, uh, the Elder Scrolls Online...What's,uh...What's wrong with it?

Mr. Praline: I'll tell you what's wrong with it, my lad. It's dead, that's what's wrong with it!

Owner: No, no, it's uh,...it's resting.

Mr. Praline: Look, matey, I know a dead game when I see one, and I'm looking at one right now.

Owner:No no it's not dead, it's, it's restin'! Remarkable game, the Elder Scrolls Online, idn'it, ay? Beautiful plumage!

Mr. Praline: The plumage don't enter into it. It's stone dead.

Owner: Nononono, no, no! It's resting!

Mr. Praline: All right then, if he's restin', I'll wake him up! (shouting at the computer) 'Ello, Mister Elder Scrolls Online! I've got a lovely fresh cuttle fish for you if you show...

    (owner hits the computer)

    Owner: There, it moved!

Mr. Praline: No, it didn't, that was you hitting the computer!

    Owner: I never!!

    Mr. Praline: Yes, you did!

Owner: I never, never did anything...

Mr. Praline: (yelling and hitting the computer repeatedly) 'ELLO ESO!!!!! Testing! Testing! Testing! Testing! This is your nine o'clock alarm call!

Early zones are populated. There are lots of people up to lvl 50 in every zone. Then they reach vet zones and either roll and alt, quit or run to craglorn. Some stay in the vet zones but not a lot. It just doesn't give you enough experience, bad rewards and the only real rewards are the skill points, skyshards and lorebooks. So yeah vet zones are dead, the rest, craglorn and low level zones are not. It just shows very statistically what people dislike about this game: Vet Zones

So does any good business. It still amazes me that there are people who think that people shouldn't complain and then wonder why things don't improve. Think of the various complaints as being a data stream, no complaints = no data. The Developers and people in business in general aren't psychic, they don't know customers aren't happy if there aren't any complaints. It's up to the people taking the complaints as to judge whether there's reason to make changes not other customers. IMO they can judge the validity of the complaint by the volume of support and the volume of backlash.

Now in regards to the OP. I haven't played most of the week so I don't know if there has been a drop in players. IRL can suck sometimes. So could the OP poster please provide valid evidence? Also a better definition of "dead". Is it "A massive fall in players"? Is it "Increasing issues with Game Mechanics"? What "format" are you using for the determination?

it will get better. you guys have no faith what so ever lolol

    This.

Companies love this type of person. Keep paying in faith and you are happy with belief all the while to the company in question, you are a faceless pay check. "Will get better" went out the window when the game with live in the EXACT state it had been in during 6 months of beta.

From the first time I logged in the beta in November 2013 all the way through live release. The very same breaks and progression blocks existed. Nothing was done. That is a hell of an advanced warning many companies , that care, would take seriously.

Waiting until you take masses of cash off people, is NOT when they should suddenly start thinking about fixing sh*t. Back peddling wont bring the players back. But at least they will have you.

You can't judge how "empty" the game is of players just because the vet zones are empty.

Over half of the subscription base of players have no desire whatsoever to even start the Veteran content. They want to play alts in other alliances, not the same character.

So that's half the players right there that will never be in a Vet zone. They don't care one bit about being 'max level'. They will replay the content a dozen times with as many alts as they can create.

Guilds emptying out... well, of course. Most of those formed guilds in the first week. There was probably a HUGE drop in guild membership when the first 30 free days expired. Did you know that the percentage of players that "finishes" any game is like 20%? Go check any game in your steam list that offers achievements and see what the % of people that have completed the endgame achievement if you don't believe that number.

Just like the population rate of the world = birth vs. deaths. A games population is new subscriptions vs cancelled subscriptions. I play alts. I group with people very frequently who are NEW to the game.

The initial guilds are like Senior Housing... You are all moaning about how all your friends are gone, so clearly the world population must be falling.

You do realize that we have Vr zones because people wanted to experience all the content with one character. Now we have a situation where either group wants to do it, except a rather small majority.

If no one continues, then the game IS going to die, what happens if everyone get 3 charter to level 50 according to you? They will just stop playing, then what?

I am in a guild which has been up from early access, and it has been cleared out and reformed 4 major times now, dipping below 200 people and back to max, we are at a stage now were if we delete someone there is almost no one to replenish them with. Most people on the guild roster stop being active between Vr1-3, you cant say they are rolling uilts because its will show that, their level will dip since, it is according to their @account name and not character name.

New sub are in no way gonna replenish the subs they initially lost from the Vr content.

This is a very good post and I agree. I like to play alts and take my time.

This game is not dead to me. I like less people in it getting in my way breaking my immersion, but it is not dead until or if ZOS says so. If they keep making content, it is not dead. If I can still play it, it is not dead to me. Even if I'm the only one still playing, it won't be dead to me.

Live on ESO. I will be here.
FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.

To be honnest I do not really care what other players think about The Elder Scrolls Online. I personaly love it and enjoy to play it!

Now, I must be honnest that 80% of my guild stopped to play once Wildstar launched. The guys left are some casual players that didn't liked Wildstar and continue to focus only on ESO when they have time.
I personaly toke a sort of "break" for the first week of Wildstar release, but now I'm going to play both games.

No other MMO can replace ESO for me. It's as simple of that. ESO is the game that fullfill my need of immersion, stories, dream, and gorgeous landscapes. ESO make me relaxed when I play.

ESO is certainly not perfect, and I'm still low level. Considering the pace I'm playing this game, it will be several month before I reach the Wall of Veteran content and by then it might have been improved. So..I only see a bright future for me and ESO! <3

The game is empty in Veteran levels because we vets are reroling alts. Hoping something will come along the way before this month ends.

And one vet dungeon is not what I would call content.

Still I like the game more then others out there, so here I am. Paying, not playing, waiting for some end game content.

And better ( MUCH better ) vet XP. Because the grind is horibad.

It isn't dead. There is a tremendous amount of dropped/inactive accounts though.

In it's current state, ESO isn't even in the ball park of it's potential. It is chugging along as a niche game with a considerably smaller player base than it could have. If nothing changes soon, it will likely have about the same size player base as games like Aion or SWTOR.

I was in Grahtwood (vet 2 zone) the other day and some guy spammed chat to get people to destroy a dark anchor with him. Well, I crafted, gathered materials, did some rather interesting quests I had missed and an hour later he's still trying to find people for this anchor. Eventually, I took pity and helped him.

To me that seems pretty dead for a game that's been released three months ago. This was on the EU server.

I'm in a smallish guild (just over 50 players) have said since release how much we're all loving this game, and how unlike many posts in this forum, we're all happy playing the game

i recently reached vet level and to be honest while I'm not giving up yet, I'm not having much fun.

One very active guild member who reached vet level a couple of weeks ago and has struggled with different builds etc through it, finally gave up and stopped playing and unsubbed yesterday,.

The previous day another vet 2 player said he had unsubbed and if things don't improve before his sub is up, he wont be re-newing.

Another player is redoing their entire build and not playing as they want, in order to try and survive the lower vet levels.

None of us rushed to vet level, I do worry that most guild mates upon reaching vet 1 - 3 are very very unhappy with their experience

My guild members vet 1 - 3 all did the quests, most read all the books, most explored a lot, we all craft etc, we have experienced the full game, we have not skipped loads of content and rushed to end game..

That is pretty much what is happening across the board. Some people enjoy the intense VR content. but there are just as many if not more that don't. So they are either forcing themselves into builds they don't want to play and combat they don't enjoy, or they are playing 1-50 alts, or they are unsubing. There is also a significant % of people farming Craglorn because they find it the only acceptable alternative.
