If your character doesn't gain ultimate for a while, they will lose it. If we edit this feature (or others) in the future, we'll be sure to include it in the patch notes.

@ZOS_TristanK I don't believe this is what the OP is referring to, as this happens to me and my group adventuring mates quite frequently. Essentially, ultimate resets to 0 periodically between battles. When it occurs, it happens to ALL of us in the group, and at the same time. As you might imagine, this gets incredibly frustrating when fighting VR bosses.

I've experienced.this as well only once last week tho. Ultimate was 'glowing' in my abilitybar after a big battle, moved on with the group to the next battle and it's gone.
I don't comment here often but when I do, I get [snip]

Ultimates vanishing after zoning, talking to NPCs, and for entire groups between pulls are issues that are on our radar. We're still in the process of investigating these particular bugs, and appreciate your information! We encourage you folks to continue submitting bug reports in-game using the /bug command when you encounter these issues so that our Dev Team can gather as much information as possible.

Can the time please be increased to at least 10-15 minutes?

Nothing worse than having to sit and listen to npc story dialog that cant be skipped and then getting forced into a boss fight only to see your ultimate has reset

Or traveling long distances in Cyrodiil, and as soon as you see an incoming group of enemies , your ultimate has vanished

I usually like to save ultimate until that "oh shi....!" moment, but when that time comes, poof! Ultimate isn't there to save my butt. Damn you, storm atronach!

Had it happen tonight, wacked a few zombies to build ultimate, went through a door to face a boss and heyup, no ultimate.

Hurredly switch to healing staff and punt punt heal, punt punt heal etc.

I would have to agree with others. The Ultimate should be there when you need it. You should not have a requirement to go fight mobs every 5 minutes to keep it built up. And as others have pointed out, you might not run into much of anything before that timer resets.

Also the diminishing ultimate needs to be tweaked so that those of us who actually like to listen to/read through all conversation options do not get punished for doing so

There are some quests that require you to talk to an NPC or have a lot going on right before the boss fight and a lot of NPCs around to talk to (eg. Grahtwood, when you are in the Orrery, there are no other mobs to fight in there to build your ultimate back up!), I should not be penalised for paying attention to the dialogue and story rather than just rushing through and getting straight to the combat.
