The webpage with an ingame map could be problematic. If you're asking for the information to reflect current holdings, then it would require a direct feed from the servers, which won't happen. If they take a daily reading, then it might be misleading depending on when the reading is taken (and someone will figure it out). If you're just asking for the maps and general information, then several website can provide them.

MOTD: message of the day: upon logging in members will receive a 140 character post in the chat feed from whatever the guild leader set at the MOTD
allows for a way to get information to members without actually being logged in at the same time your members are.
and why would they not get a direct feed from their servers? DAoC did it along with plenty of other MMOs

As a systems/network/security admin I can tell you right now there are ways to feed just the map without creating security holes
