Increase it. If I so much as sneeze on you with fire, and you are a vampire, you should die.

    Be dunmer for added lulz.

    Whats this fire damage?

Pretty much this. I take WAY more damage from Frost casters than Fire casters as a Stage 4 Vampire. I can literally stand in fire (not Expert Dungeons ofc) with my hard capped Fire resists and take less damage than an average non-Vamp player who has less than half the Fire resistance I do. BTW, you do know that you can block Fireballs right? It will mitigate some of the incoming damage, regardless of what weapon you are using, obviously Shield would block more.

Oh and what someone else said, Vampires should be next to immune to Frost. Obviously you can't have anyone immune to anything in an MMO, so at Stage 4 we should take +50% Fire damage, and receive -50% Frost Damage, lore problem solved.

And give us that singe sound when we step outside into the daylight, like in Skyrim, kthnxbai.

My Red Witch is only level 30 but I have 800 fire resist hung on her. Her spell resist is impressive too.

    SerafinaVamp4.jpg

I keep her at stage 4, except for single boss missions, I'll feed her for them. Any simple questing works better if my Drain Essence is cheap. My witch is OP and delicate but she can happily wade in the trash now. You have to be careful but when it's clicking, I'm draining them right dead right in front of me, and I can loot em' before they hit the ground. I actually have to hold back a bit so I don't take too much health before they get to me. The 3 and even 5 man groups are just fun. She is a thirsty girl. ;)

Level 30 is a piece of cake, wait till you rise up the chain.

I know more people that have dropped vamp because of vet content rather than have kept it.

Oh I know. I am about level 34 in content and she dies rarely. I have some ideas about them and I have watched a few ridiculous vids, so I'm not sure they lose their charm. With well specced ultimate generation, you can fly Bat Swarm a lot, the healing morph, and it is kinda awesome at VR10 or so.

My Enchanter coughed up a 450 fire resist so she's at 1100 right now. ;)

At vet 12 with 2100~ spell resist and a 1475 fire resist ring, I would only take 15% more damage from fire as a vamp.

I did however remove vamp, as the only reason I remained as one was the crouch speed. I found the negative effects no longer out weighed the positive effects. (21% reduced spell cost for vamps at the cost of 75% health regen at stage 4, no thanks.)

Getting nearly 1 shot by these veteran caster mobs is getting really old. I like challenge but getting killed just by getting hit once is just silly. I personally hope they remove this fire debuff entirely or at least reduce it down to some sane number because everything in this game, including most instances have tons of fire damage everywhere.

Playing vampire is like switching on hardmode, especially when healing a group with vamps.

Put a purple Fire protection glyph on a purple jewel.

You can afford to lose one regen from jewel, due to the Vampire passives.

Personally having 1060 Fire Protection goes long road at Veteran Levels (VR5+) and at Cyrodiil.
Especially at Cyrodiil I laugh at the Dragonknights and the Fire damage Casters.

And yes I am a Khajiit Templar Vampire. And never bothered to get off Stage 4 either. Feels pointless the hassle to try find victims.

This i mean. A perfect Example how much Bonus it brings to play a Vampire. This Option needs more Disadvantage or most of the Players will choose this too. And hello, is this Teso or a cheap Twillight MMORPG?

I mean if we can get some nice Bonus it will work like the Veteran Ranks, you need to have this to play at the Endgame. Zenimax should know this and don`t offer a cheap Option to get some Advantages in the Game.

    MFG Murmeltier.

Until VR5 I was against Vampires full stop.

However I play a melee Templar.

Having spend money on four respecs, was the only option left to try something new.
(FYI Never had issued until I hit VR3+ content).

For "Lore" pespective, I would have stayed away from it. And believe me, if they fix the Stamina damage, weapons, Templars, Medium & Heavy armour as promised earlier this week by ZOS Jessica, I will go get the cure first thing.

You will ask why Vampire. Because I do not want to wear Light armour and carry Destro staff which is the only alternative.

    Also

    a) I get bit more resistance to damage when low health, and might save my skin. I am not one of the best players out there you know and prone to lag.

    b) Invigorating drain. Might not seem a lot in face value but that bit CC + pool recovery is what is missing from a Templar inherited abilities. We had such pool restoring ability, but was deemed "TOO OP" (2% Magicka per spell cast).

But its removal screwed the class completely. The reason is that they should have had to drop the costs of all spells by quite a lot.

Also that "rejuvanation" ability is what the NB & DKs DO HAVE to some extend inherited by their class abilities.

Finally, you will say "for CC but you have Javelin". Yeah right. Is very good if you are range player not Melee player. (Bow especially) It burns a lot of Magicka, and is only there to give us some space to burn more magica trying to heal.

So taking all these into consideration, with the "VAMPIRES ARE OP" statement, I would say it depends.

On an NB, SC and especially DK, the Vampire line stacks more on an already enchanced passive & active line of abilities those classes have. Especially on resource managment and survival side.

Example DK + Vampire damage mitigation makes the Vampire damage mitigation seem OP. However isn't. Is the combination of those two together that make it op. And if you are Emperor or deposed Emperor, makes it even more OP goes off the scale.

On a Templar on the other hand, the Vampire line, just tries to get them bit more playable than currently are.

Or else I would like to point at me same Templar abilities providing some CC also at the SAME COSTS, and they are NOT PBOAE.

    Similar to

DK : Green Dragon Blood + Drain Essence + Burning Heart + Burning Embers + Magma Armor
(and I am not going down to Petrify etc).

NB : Siphoning Attacks + Soul Siphoner + Magicka Flood.

SC : Have you see the passives and the synergies with Morphs?

Templar has two abilities worthy of, before you go to the ones that penalizing something (eg Sun Shield).

Eclipse. But that doesn't work for 90% of the enemy spells.

Spear Shards. Is ground target, with all the implications while also trying to dodge & block damage as melee player, making it very unwieldy.

Depends. Many believed it will be the OP configuration to face roll anything.
    Which isn't.

Me on the other hand was a very late choice to try make my Templar close the gap with NB & DKs survival ability.

Spell resist, fire resist, and Dunmer resist make the fire debuff pretty trivial in most situations. As long as I don't stand in the big red circle of death I usually don't pay any attention to fire weakness.

From my understanding it only get unmanageable in the Veteran levels, where the caps on resistance get met, but fire damage still increases.

So they only have to allow the caps to increase with the vet levels, and balance can be restored. (I know only is a poor choice, but I mean they won't have to rejig everything).

Vampire is a specialty build because it has specific strengths and specific weaknesses. You choose vamp for a specific purpose and not for a general purpose.

Making vampire a general purpose buff/class line takes away from this concept.

I love my vamp character, but the fire penalty is really the only thing that keeps it balanced. No... I am a person that doesn't like the easy mode.

Are you serious with this poll? Your choices have consequences. The benefits of vampirism have drawbacks to offset it. It is called balance. If you don't like low FR, get some FR jewelry or cure it. But don't start a poll trying to unbalance something that is finally balanced.

Vampire keeps all his former abilities. To be balanced, he has to have ALL advantages balanced by something. I have my doubts that vampire is neutral "flavor" package it should be, even with current fire vulnerability.
