On the op, ESO so then add some dragons. Preferably in Bangkorai. Just three. And you can catch them and train them and ride them.

:) I could see ESO doing that but I doubt it in the time Era we are in Dragons have not been revived yet. It makes me sad

I wonder if they'll span ESO to that point that it crosses into Skyrim. Isn't ESO like 2-3k years prior?

I am not 100% certain but i believe that ESO is after Oblivion and in between Skyrim, the realm torn into chaos by the death of the last emperor and the death of the amulet of kings.

which would once again work on my comparison of ESO to Game of thrones, a world plundered into darkness without a real leader, fighting across the realm for the throne

GoT has a leader. In fact, they have several. They just have a shortage of iron thrones to pass around.

each area has its own leader, there is no emperor, hence cyrodil and the fight to become emperor lol

Nope. ESO takes place in 2E 582 and Oblivion takes place in 3E 433, which means that ESO takes place almost 750 years before Oblivion, and about 950 years before Skyrim.

good nice to know that, I was unsure, which means we are discovering the amulet of kings during the main quest line and putting it back out there. Okay, that makes sense. I am glad to know that.

They both take inspiration from common historical and fantasy themes but my wife and I have also discussed the similarities between TES and GOT. Especially when Skyrim was released.

I don't think that Martin got his inspiration from TES. According to Wiki, it was conceived while he was writing Avalon.

just saying the lore behind it is similar, nobody is saying that martin got his inspiration form TES just that TES and GOT were inspired by some of the same source matieral

Idk, if that Wiki is true, I find it really odd that Martin had a random inspiration when he was making a sci-fi book. His past works were horror and sci-fi so it's a little out of left field to have this Aha! moment for an unrelated genre, but then again, it's Martin...sooo...

And yes, there are similarities, but then that could be said of the genre as a whole, really.

I've always been convinced that a whole lot of Martin's inspiration came from the War of the Roses. I mean, it's obvious he's a history buff, otherwise he wouldn't have got so many details of medieval life right. Sure, there are plenty of non-real-world elements in GOT, but so much of the civil war storyline, with the warring houses and shifting alliances, seems pulled right out of history books.

I'd guess that working on a sci-fi book was when he got the idea for a world where seasons lasted years, and weren't of any consistent length. The rest of the inspiration probably came from other sources.

But The Elder Scrolls has been around 2 years before that, and it already had a deep plot and lore.

IMO Game of Thrones is overrated.

Do you mind? I'm busy doing the fishstick, it's a very delicate state of mind.
