I noticed when I just reached veteran rank 2 aside from the golden saint costume I was awarded I got zilch. I got no skill point and no attribute point to use. To my understanding the enemies are going to get much stronger but we don't get any stronger with veteran ranks apparently, why?
I know we get access to better gear but why do the levels not increase our stats at all? Do we get any base stamina/health/magicka increase at all?
It's not rewarding to grind levels if I don't get any stronger from it IMO.

The gear is basically where your power will be coming from in Veteran Ranks.
In fact, the gear is basically where your power comes from for the whole game.

apparently increased armour doesn't mean much, and increase weapon damage only works for melee, spell damage will not be increased with VR.

Increase Weapon Damage isn't just melee, it also affects damage/healing from Bow, Destruction Staff, and Restoration Staff.
You also get +1 Spell Damage per VR.
right, the weapon damage of staff too, but not abilities of staff skill lines.

do I get +1 spell damage for each vr? I am V7 has spell damage of 93, which include +8 damage from the necklace. So its 85 w/o necklace.
so how do ppl actually get to 130 spell damage?

You get 10 points for each stat and 10 skill points for doing most stuff in a zone also your soft cap increases from what i have seen.
it is funny how everybody complains that you don't get strong enough in VR after whining that they were pwned too much by VRs in pvp.

This combination is what makes veteran players deadly to non-veterans in Cyrodiil.
