To be honest I think you're going to see the $1 check and the 14.99 charge and you'll get the $1 back eventually. I think it might decline. I could be wrong though.

I'd recommend calling them on thier toll free numbers

The $1 charge will be separate. It is a check to make sure the card is good. The subscription fee will be for a full 14.99 plus any related taxes.

Thought they did not allow subscription charges to be paid using a prepaid credit card...or did they change that again?

There are different types of pre paid credit cards. Ones that you can't reload and ones that you can reload. I use one that I can load up whenever I need to use it online and have used it twice now so far to pay for my monthly subscription for ESO. My card is pretty much the same as a regular credit card, it has my name on it, has an expiry date. Just doesn't affect your credit rating.

It will be declined because the $1 doesn't go back in before they try taking the subscription. I have not been able to play for 2 weeks now because their billing is flawed. I have an ongoing support issue with them atm with them trying to figure out why their system does not work 100% of the time.

In my opinion, the $1 test of the card is the problem for me, even tho there is more than enough on the prepaid. I use the prepaid via my PayPal and have had 2 conversations with the prepaid credit card company and 3 with PayPal and PayPal has confirmed with me, and my case, that Zenimax's system appears to be cancelling the transaction before Paypal can even process it with the CC company.

I have had 5 failed attempts of which all created a separate subscription with PayPal. PayPal removed all 5 of those from my PayPal account to clear the slate and told me to wait 24 hours so the security flag on my PayPal account with Zenimax will be cleared. I am waiting 48 hours to be sure and will try again in the morning.

There are 10 support emails from 5 different CSR's in my mail box, all of which I have tried everything they asked me to and replied to each with results. I even supplied them with screenshots of the whole process and the screenshots of my PayPal and Prepaid CC account transactions.

I will only try to establish my sub one more time and if they haven't fixed it by then, I shall just leave me account as is and find another game to play for the next few months to give them time to get their poop in a scoop so I don't have to go through this headache or expense of long distance calls to be sure my end is ok (which it is and has been from the first try other than PayPal locking transactions from Zenimax as a security risk for establishing so many subscriptions in my PayPal account).

Who knows, a new game might spark my interest to not want to leave....
Time to go read some reviews to prepare for what I fear will be the next option... a different new game to play.

I was so looking forward to enjoying this game like I did with all the other TES games.. :(

I do believe the ESO release date was not properly prepared for. I have had more issues in the 11 levels played in my free month than I did when I played 9 levels of beta. And now billing issues to go with the game issues.... :(

The ones that you register, like yours, are taken.

The ones you can't reload that someone gifts you can't from what I understand. Blizzard is the same way, as is SOE last I checked.

I used an AccountNow MasterCard for years when I couldn't get a checking account. Direct deposit onto a prepaid credit card.

1USD... seriously all this over $1? You do realize the amount of time you spent typing all of this you could have made lots of $$$ in that time. Or perhaps the amount of calories (money on food) you would have saved by not spending them dealing with this problem.

    Alas......
    Indeed it is so...

'They' being ZOS aren't the ones blocking this, the card issuers are the ones preventing it.
