Since obesity is a 'western' disease of the 20th century and now, especially in North America and to a lesser extent in Europe, caused by lousy diets in the main, in 'ancient' times where there was no processed sugar .. forget Moonsugar, that's a drug! .. obesity would largely not exist.

I'm not that old to really know lol but a simple search...
" ...let's look at the Roman physican and philospher Galen; who was actually one of the earlist to record and treat clinical cases of morbid obesity."

...and what about the Ogrim? just big boned?

Not sure what you've been doing but I've seen plenty of NPCs that are not height weight proportional.

    It's Tamriel, not a politically-correct diversity fest.

Anyway, people walk everywhere, or ride horses, so they don't get fat driving their car down to the 7-11 for a box of Twinkies.

Alchemy and magic replace amputation, thank goodness.

And, well, I find most elves to be hideously ugly, anyway.

There was plenty of fat people in olden days. (not saying, btw, that ESO is about olden times).

It was a sign of prestige in some societies, yes, but in any case there is tons evidence of overweight people in every society.

This "obesity is a 20th century disease" is bs. More prevalent? Yes. But hardly a new phenomenon.

I mean, I havent seen a SINGLE obese NPC or any underweight NPCs. It looks like the variants are just height and not actual girth. And they all look muscular even those drunkards. Not to mention that their muscle tone is also near perfect too! Even the supposedly 'old' people.

That gets my vote for the best answer. In the Victorian Age and before, most of your obese were royalty and the very wealthy.

Yep. If you went to Polynesia, it was pretty easy to suss out who the king of the island was. He'd be the biggest, fattest guy, with the biggest hat.

Big hats and big bellies; can't beat those as a sign of office.

Anyway. We all know the stereotype of the fat, demanding, not-caring-about-his-subjects kingly types, pretty much any petty mean king in cartoons is fat. "Bring me HASENPFEFFER!" etc.

My question is ... tried what? Driving a car for twinkies? Amputation? Or getting it on with an ugly elf?
