Why are all NPCs have ideal figures?

cisadanepajsuxrwb17_ESO
I mean, I havent seen a SINGLE obese NPC or any underweight NPCs. It looks like the variants are just height and not actual girth. And they all look muscular even those drunkards. Not to mention that their muscle tone is also near perfect too! Even the supposedly 'old' people.

HOW CAN DRUNKARDS BE OF A FIT BODY SIZE? At the very least they should have a beer belly. And I really really want to see a fat cat, no not the idiom but a literal cat who is physically fat. And some iguanas are fat too although I dont give a toot about them.

I also notice a lack of disfigured body parts. This being a war ravaged land, where are the one legged/one handed/disabled/deaf NPCs ZoS?

To be fair the bigger issue is why so many faces are reused when we have a character creator.

Also as a rule of thumb I generally consider that in worlds with significant amounts of magic and such its easy to have a way to alchemy or magic away weight and most physical beauty issues that aren't curse related.

Same also follows for your disabilities question since magic and alchemical healing make it so you have options other than amputation.

This one asked an Argonian if she could swim underwater, she asked this one if he could see in the dark. He has no good answer.

People keep telling me they're gonna buy me an ale. They never do.

There are only two things I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's culture. And the Elves.

No fast food, no cars, people walk, run or ride horses, owning a horse takes exercise, people aren't lazing around on the sofa stuffing their faces watching the TV, or being glued to their PC's playing computer games.

I see far far far to many fat people in real life, the last thing I want to do is pay to see more in this game thank you (and I say that as a fat person that needs to eat less)

Obesity is really a modern day concept. In a more medevil time it would have been very rare due to lack of food and hard day to day work. Lords and kings would be the only real people capable of getting obese. Even then it would be rare. As pointed out, there is no fast food. Which means a massive lack of sugar.

    To correct you:

    1. Obesity is related to Epigenetics. If you live in a starved area like many North Americans from 1870-1970, you can observe a generational pattern. Generation 1 is starving and eats everything. Generation 2 (1920-60) eat a lot of Lard, and tend to gorge themselves. Look at the cookbooks! Generation 3 finally starts to pay for it. They are born prone naturally to Obesity.

    2. Obesity is related to many diseases like Thyroids which wasn't invented by Western Culture. Are you anti-west?

    3. Some cultures value some Obesity. In the 1930's in North America, the "ideal" female body shape accoding to Time Magazine was "Plump, Voluptuous". Or, if you are that new, "a little extra."

    4. Women with "a little extra" endure pregnancy easier. As such many indigenous tribes across the world in the modern age (usually in second and third world countries) as well as many ancient societies portrayed the "ideal woman" as "bigger" than thinner. This is related to the need of women to endure several pregnancies, and related to high infant mortality rates.

So as you can see your idea of "female perfection" is quite biased and based on modern axiomatic and aesthetic beliefs in beauty.

I accept having characters violate reality in certain ways, such as most people being pretty healthy and nobody being Obese.

There are already no children, so what, adults just poof into the world from Coldharbour? Female NPCs in ESO don't seem to complain of menstrual cramps. How is babby formed in ESO?

As you can see, there are plenty of real life biological things that shouldn't be in the game, and at minimum harm nobody to have it absent. I haven't seen any mentally handicap characters. I have seen cannibals and a homosexual married male couple. I have seen people who would worship Molag Bal!

So, chill a bit. This is a non issue.

Sticky Ricky - scrawny and small elf dude
The Big Diggler - big beer belly rough looking orc
-Stranger-Danger - big beer belly rough looking nord
Gudrod the Hunter - tall handsome muscle-bound nord
Gangrad - muscular old gray haired nord

No women yet tho. Never thot about it but will include some in my next char gen.

I have seen some "bulky" men and women out there, but it is quite uncommon. Variety is the spice of life.

That being said, it's even more obvious with players that they prefer specific physiques

Though I once ran into a naked overly-obese female orc player with warpaint and pony tails ... the whole incident was disturbing to say the least.

Plumpness was a sign of wealth. People who could afford to over-eat. In the animal world, plump is most desirable.

I've seen a few fat khajiits, orcs and nords. Even seen the occasional chunky woman - I think she was a chef.

Why are all NPCs have ideal figures?
Because of the mega server concept.
They have to be on the slim side so they don't take up too much server resources ...

I think I have a goal for myself when I play the game today. I am going to find the most overweight NPC!

because food was scarce and people were poor and had to work just to get some food in their hands. generally, those who could provide from themselves were heather than kings due to them having the diet we have now (irony). and as someone here succinctly explained it, being plump was a sign of wealth.

Wha? I've found quite a few unattractive NPCs. Some that are scrawny, fat, dirty, old and disheveled, or with just plain ugly faces. In fact, I think it's much harder to make particularly attractive characters in this game than the vast majority of MMOs. Consider how many armor styles leave boobs partially exposed, or the fact that you can't create a Barbie figure. Males can be quite fit but you can't actually make gigantic muscles like you can in other games.

    I mean, watch this:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZI3nOOa8-Dk#t=483

Just try to create these characters in ESO. Hell, just try to find an armor type that will even show cleavage.

Problem is, ESO doesn't take place in "ancient" times.

A better comparison would be the medieval eras; during which, in many cultures, being overweight/obese was a sign of good-fortune and nobility as only the richest could afford the excess food and leisure time.

But I imagine it would be something of a turn-off for players if all the faction leaders were fatties.
