I know this is a baiting thread & we're supposed to answer with boring or mundane tasks that are barely worth logging in for, but I'm not taking the bait. I do the same things I did on day one. My wife & I are questing the VR5 zone & have unlocked VR6. We probably do more crafting now to make some walkin' around money. A couple of nights a week we go have a blast in Cyrodiil.

As to the OP's question, my VR12 Templar is parked. I use him for crafting, so I do research and get stuff from hirelings. I also take him out to help guildies who are leveling and for guild activities.

I'm leveling a both a dragon knight and sorcerer and find those much more fun than the templar. I'm not sure which one I will focus on yet.
So many templars have parked their main and started a DK, Sorc or Both.

I have found the Sorc so much more fun, I wish I followed the golden MMO rule.
    "Mages are always OP"

Yup. My VR12 Templar is parked. I still log on to grab hireling mails, make sure research is rolling, and do the PvP kill 20 daily.

But I re-rolled Sorc and I am having fun being able to actually play the game again.

Wife and I play ESO for a couple of hours every other day or so. We concentrate on conducting the side-quests together, ignoring the forced-solo instances (main story, Mages and Fighters Guild). So far, we've climbed to Level 31.

Every other day, we play SWTOR, or just don't play anything at all. Lots to do, with the recent move and all.

@Nazon_Katts‌ That's private information. If you know that, you know I'm not allowed to discuss that. What's your paypal? Maybe we can come to some kind of arrangement.

Nah, I'm not into bribery. Just harmless guessing games. 20 questions and so, y'know... Though it should be 19 questions, since we already know you're still alive.

Just don't tell anyone, ok? I can get into big trouble if people find out who I am.

No worries D, my secret is save with you... now, where was I?!

I do a lot of stuff:) I love quests. A lot of them have cool unexpected turns and interesting choices(granted, a lot of them don't, but hey). Vet 6 here, and while vet zones certainly have a lot of problems, questing itself is still good(it's the killing trash mobs part that sucks). I'm aiming for Tamriel hero. Hero of the Pact and Covenant so far, usually with quite a few quests above the achievements' threshold done:)

Also feeding both my horses, doing researchs(tho it's like 10 days til I can do next now xD), etc. Oh, and a bit ashamed to admit, but motif farming lately=x I just have 1 motif left...so just MUST get it since I'm a completionist>.> <.<

Oh, and treasure hunting. I LOVE treasure hunting, a few of my friends who don't send me all their maps and then I can spend hours looking. The reward isn't worth it, it's the process itself that I like. Quite a few times I have found new places and quests previously missed while doing so, it's cool.

I also do some farming every once in a while, usually for runes or herbs.

With all their bugs and overbuffed vet trash and being stuck for a week in Bangkorai I actually seriously considered quitting a few days ago when my sub was up, but I think I'll give it another chance^^ It's just too beautiful to leave at that, plus I really wanna know AD story, their queen is so cool.

Edit:oh, and hirelings' mails. One must never forget their mails, they're awesome.

I log on to my small guilds ventrilo server where my lveling partner is usually waiting for me along with a handfull of our guilmates.

We hit vet 10 the week afer release and did all the quests, world bosses and dungeos along the way.

We repeated all the vet dungeons untill we had All the achivements for them.

When craglorn came out we did all that content as group and repeated it a few times to get guildies through it.

Completed AA with help from a pro guild willing to teach the litl guys. Thx Pat and Alacrity.

Now we are having a blast PVPing in waba, although AD is loosing in points the group we run with is verry well organized and effective. The Raid leaders are knowlagable. And we routinely take on larger forces succesfully.

And even when we are wiped buy the really good players on the other faction or the overwealming forces of an infinate zerg. We die with a smile and I say to my self "DAMN that was fun, lets do that again"

Thank you Jesus! Clone and Tink and the rest of the waba team.

And tanks to my in game hubby Xaraan who makes playing through bug quests and pvp lag bareable

Log in with my V3 Templar, feed da horses, check to see what guild members are on, see it's only me. Go back to questing, after being beaten on by mobs of 3 or killing them slowly via range and slow dps. I'll go do story lines. Turn in 10-15 quests, check my XP to see it hasn't budged.

Pop into world pvp see we own everything and no one is around, except for the small scale fight in the same spot.

Log out and go play Guild wars 2

I got to Cyrodil and kill people, die.. go to different spot and continue I actually really need to stop pvping and go collect all my skill points and make a suite of proper armour. But killing people is just too much fun.

Also experimenting with builds.. I have now maxed out Light, Heavy, Medium, Dual Wield, Bow, 1h/shield, Resto Staff, Destro staff and obviously class skills. There is a massive amount of different builds you can create from that.

Questing mostly, a bit of fishing here and there. And a lot of socializing on top of it all.

I'm only at coldharbour, with over 25days played. You only quest once, so I'm making the most of it. Judging from the complaints about 'nothing to do' at endgame, I think I made the right decision.

Later on, if I get bored of VR content, I'll roll an alt in another faction.

I'm running around like a chicken with my head cut off, I have so much to do. A few hours every few days really spaces out the content. Especially if I make another character, so I can have one regular and one supernatural. I'm not even bored yet.

I feel a need to post again for I have found another awesome thing to do=)
Vet is just frustrating, so I take a break every few quests or so, to farm, craft, treasure hunt or whatever. I also tend to give away stuff for free. Yesterday I took a few hundred of Pitch and Hemmings I have too much of and went to Deshaan(I'm with EP so it's a lvl 20ish zone iirc), where I said I'd give it for free to whoever asks me with proper grammar:) The following several mins were the most entertaining I've had in ESO for weeks xD

Oh, and I did give it to them of course. Distributed between those few who actually managed the task:)

Contrast this with another mmo you liked. For me personally, I just am not having as much fun as I could be having. I'm finishing up the VR++ from AD,EP, DC now in Rivenspire. I'm struggling to get through it all before I go back to SWTOR for a while.

However, I know my opinion is just me. So what about you guys? What draws you to this game that keeps you playing just like a player who likes WoW keeps playing WoW? What do you do? How does the game captivate you?

Wow, your comments ring true to my ears. I'm a former DDO fan. I was obsessive about DDO, playing every chance I could - for years. Whatever qualities that game had that appealed to me, ESO doesn't. I don't know if that's simply b/c I'm changing games and reflecting back on what it is I'm doing exactly - b/c I switch hobbies every few years - or if something is honestly lacking here.

The thing about ESO is that it:

    1. is beautiful (especially compared to older games like DDO)
    2. has great stories and tons and tons of content
    3. has lots to do - from bosses to rares to dungeons to farming mobs

So I can't quite figure out why I'm just not obsessing here. It might be the builds and items are different - I can't quite get my mind around them, but understand DDO (D&D) stats, abilities, items instantly - or the lack of interesting drops.

What is starting to bother me are:
    1. the repetitive feel of different dungeons. Each dungeon should be unique! Cut and paste dungeons are blach!
    2. the uselessness of holding on to equipment unless you're in the upper VR range. Don't repair, just toss it.

    What really bothers me is:
    1. the miserable grouping tool. I end up soloing most of the time b/c I can't group with anyone. I want a tool like DDO's where I advertise for players - they can read it and decide whether to join. It's very community building - I used to log in and immediately check the grouping tool. Here I log in and ... press "map" to see where I need to go. If I wanted a solo game, this wouldn't be it.
    2. combat lag makes combat not real time. I want real time. If DDO can do it using an 8 year old engine, then ESO can.

TL;DR: I'm not a programmer, I don't care about the programming difficulties, I'm a paying customer and I want results. I like this game, but I will vote with my dollars if this game doesn't improve.

Same here, with a trait research thrown in every now and then. Probably will continue grinding through VR again, depends a bit on how much WS can grab my attention with it's group content.

.....honestly...I don't remember what kept me going in Wow. I guess I was just determined to do all bosses in raids, but as the game went on that became harder and harder to do, and required longer play time just preparing,

The daily 25 quest, grinding for rep and jewcrafting plans. it all just got to the point i was paying to prepare for the stuff I wanted to do...then they nerfed Healadins so I was out of most raids, no one wanted me.

I guess what moved me was the prospect that I could be good, but the investment turned out not to be worth the reward

Now I'm still doing my first VR zones, while still finishing off my crafting and research, look for stuff to sell (motifs and recipes) while questing for research materials, looking for more skill points, because most are in crafting skills.

still a lot of gold i need for horses and bank space, and then there is time on my alt, but because VR is mostly just the other alliance quests, takes the fun out of leveling an alt

Just started ESO about a month ago. I'm very casual, I work full time and have a wife and dog to entertain. I hop on when my friend can also play, we have done everything together so far. When he can't play and I want too, I just level an alt. I'd say I play on average 2-4 hours on weekdays. Highest level is 22.

I'm hoping this slow pace will allow some kinks to be worked out and more content to be added by the time I can experience them.

Farm mats (specifically alchemy) for an hour or so daily then off to pvp land. The farming is not the least bit boring since I always have a show or movie running side to side.

Lately I have also been running quests I missed and farming bosses as to level Every skill tree. Still working on getting my enchanting to 50.

I have also become ambitious about becoming filthy rich in-game such that the idea of respeccing will never bother me again.

On the side I am also leveling my templar alt. Needless to say, I have a ton on my plate to keep me busy.

If you can't make your own fun from a MMO, maybe the genre is not meant for you. The ironic thing is that many who complain about lack of content are the same guys who complained ESO was not sandbox.

Literally the only thing the kept me playing WoW for almost 5 years was the group of online buds I raided with, that's it. At the end I literally hated that game. Rift was a little better for me but I ended up in the same rut, only really staying because of the fun folks I met while playing it. Eve Online, well that's a whole different game there, even as nerdy as I am with my notebook I had of Eve calculations for building I still got bored with it after many years.

ESO so far is what I was looking for in an MMO. It gives me the option to solo as I choose and group when I want to. I'm still working my way up to VR12, although I'm done with Cadwell's Almanac already. I also work on alts just about every day, at least a little bit. For me it's still new and exciting, this is a better topic to be asked after the 6mo mark, for me at least.

    What keeps me occupied?

Oh, pretty much ANYTHING except bypassing content by exploit/grind farming the same thing 24/7 to rush to level cap so I can stroke my epeen in badly tiered PVP to pretend that I'm a "winner."

    Nope, no sympathy at all.

I totally feel ya, but I also want to point out that some of us, myself included, didn't leave because we skipped content or rushed to end game. I took my time, and it was a legitimate feeling of "there's nothing to do in this game."

For me it went like this: I loved 1-50, got to VR, was a NB, tried to grind quests in AD starter zones, succumbed to how much it sucked and gave up at VR4. My home campaign was Skullcrusher, which at least at the time (don't know how it's been since I stopped playing) had been 100% controlled by AD for 3+ weeks. There was a DC population of I believe 4 last time I was on. So can't really PvP. There's no Housing, no Guild halls, no way to meet up with my guild in game, no real way to group with people, no viable way to level aside from quest mil. There's just nothing for me to do.

They did a very good job with 1-50 questing, probably the best I've ever seen. Finally, quests are actually important and interesting, and not just "go find me 5 boar tusks". But the trade-off, was that this game is completely 1 dimensional at the moment, where all it has is the quest mill. Any kind of guild, social, grouping, housing i.e. anything to do except grind quests is completely missing.

For me, I have finished my AD and EP characters. I pushed my EP character to VR2 to get the saint costume figuring it would be great for my lower level Templar in DC. But, unfortunately its a lvl 50 only thing... so that was a bust. So that leaves me with just my DC character mostly right now, plus a few other characters that are sync'd with friends.

Probably have seen 80% of the games content so far. On my to do list is
    1. Finish the DC content.
    2. Explore what (if any) single-player content exists in Cyrodiil.
    3. Play those characters that are helping out friends.

Then its very likely I will unsub to be honest. I personally love the game's content. Its a great game, but they should have had more content or some other way to randomize the experience.

I likely will have played 2 characters through each alliance by the time I unsub, and that's not counting the 5 or 6 times I have played through the starter zones, testing new builds and characters.

I also tend to talk to other NPCs and such. I love finding out whats happening in each zone with the NPCs you met on bleakrock or Stros.
