If your character doesn't gain ultimate for a while, they will lose it. If we edit this feature (or others) in the future, we'll be sure to include it in the patch notes.

@ZOS_TristanK How do you gain ultimate points? I mean is it by damage alone or are there certain skills you use?

Then there are times when you lose it in between pulls, or when you change zones, or way point to the next area. The timer is anywhere from instantly to 5 minutes. Hell I've idled in town with a full ultimate bar and it's stayed up for at least an hour and then I go into a fight, kill something and it's gone. Nothing like pulling a group and having your ultimate vanish right as you engage a boss.

Hmmmm. It really seems to be too random to be "Working As Intended". Seems to me that the timeout for the drop of Ultimate is borked somehow. @TristanK, can you tell us what the timeout is suppose to be?

it's not intended (atleast i hope it's not)
i loose ultimate sometimes instantly and sometimes within 2 minutes. it was what i was depending on to help me win fights and be able to protect myself. but, with it gone so easily i just get really angry and frustrated. i even made this thread about it.

People here who seen me, calls me fanboy, blind to all, everything Zenimax is doing is great, etc.

The Ultimate should NOT go instantly from full to 0. It should be like it is now, degrading slowly over time when you are not doing anything. If that takes 3-4 mins.....thats perfectly alright.

INSTANT from full to 0, like you used it, NO WAY! Thats just plain wrong!

is this happening due to the server? megaserver effect of things not loading? or is it intentional?

I've seen my ultimate reset after turning quests. It's not consistent though. I've sat in town for 20 minutes chatting or whatever and it's still there, unchanged, without damaging a thing or entering combat.

I have lost my ultimate just before last dungeon boss several times, so i dont think this is to way it should work. What's the point have them at all.

Maybe Zenimax is out to get you. They follow you around and steal your resources.

when i bought skyrim there was a nord who spam followed me demanding i join thier fighters guild and saying he didnt trust me. (dark elf i am) at 1st i thought this was a glitch untill a week later it was patched and it did not happen again. then a bit later there were a continous amount of nords spoted that were infact following me.
the nord in windhelm was drunk every night and yelling bad things to us dark elf's while we rested in our homes they provided. when i wass fed up to oblivion with it i tried to kill him but for some very odd reason the developers saw fit to not allow that character to be killed in the code. they treated us dark elf's like trash and spoke bad about us in public places ingame. here in eso i have found similar events and bad speech of elf's and thier lifestyle choices.
in morrowind it was only the higher inteligent dark elves who could make enchanted items of great power, but here in eso we see that there is a voice of a nord pronouncing to us the wording every single time we attempt to make enchant item. this is rather insulting to me as i do believe the whole reason for the book called "the A B C's of a barbarian" was most obviously written for nord's to help them along in thier weakness of higher intelligence

is this due to the dislike of the single player game morrowind? is this racial thing a glitch or something deeper? i dont realy know any facts about the beliefs and changes since morrowind single player games ended but with the release of the game called "oblivion and untill present time i have not seen anything like morrowind ever was. we have even seen the complete removal of Vvardenfell now in history books and also our slave practices and many of our telvanni
practices simply removed - this includes levitation and many many highly reguarded ancient elf secrets and books (necromancy as well as duel summoning of dremora, gone ... all gone)

this thing they have done to the ebonheart pact .. it's a bit beyond me to even comprehend it all ...

So according to TESO, everyone is battling for the Imperiel City, when realistically, the Tribunal could literally just float in (yes fly in), snap their fingers and clap, and everyone within a 1,000 mile radius would just be incinerated to ash and the Tribunal could sit on the Ruby Thone....at full power (Which the Tribunal is during the 2nd era 578) thats literally all it would have taken. The Tribunal were Gods...their power rivaled the power held by Akatosh and Shor....except they had physical form...to think they would just sit by and watch and not assume power or protect them selves from Molag Bal is just absurd....Afterall, Alamalexia could see the future I do beleive so she would know what he was planning ahead of time...they are living gods at this time afterall.



2. Why is there not one single mention of this incident in any lore book or history book?



Tamriel has some pretty darn good historians....nearly every thing that has ever happened in the past has been written down or documented some where, from the Dragon Break and the Warp in the West, to the TES Famous 2920- The Last Year of the First Era by Carlovac Townaway. We have documented books on the Dwemer, accounts of the Battle of Red Mountain, in the 1st era 700.



My biggest joy with TES is how extensive the history is....there is not one single mention anywhere about any Dark Anchors, a semi-quasi Daedric invasion by Molag Bal, or anything else for that matter. If this happened, according to lore, it would have been written down some where or talked about in a book. the Empire pretty much outlawed the book The Arcturian Heresy, yet copies of it can be found in some places, as history always finds a way to be preserved somehow.

This event with Darkc Anchors, etc is just as big of an event as the Oblivion Crisis of the 4th era...surely it would be written down somewhere.

and what about all the swearing in the main story line?

just unbelievable, the true sware words in morrowind were things like
N~wah and filcher

here in TESO we see that there is realistic modern day speech and swearing im not even allowed to say here on thier own forum yet it's in the main quest and people say its an enjoyable story to witness and play out?

what about all thos ancient dwemer items that were infact illeagle to even posess let alone purchase from the underworld?

Im not sure how it actually is supposed to work or w/e but i can tell you a bit about my experience - As far as i have noticed there are two ways to get ultimate points:

- 1. Use skills that give you points (some give more than others)
- 2. Critical hit or heal adds ulti points.

Maybe a random heal here or there could have kept your ultimate up. I also had a reliable source tell me (i havent tested this yet) that if you keep 1 skills from alliance tree's slotted, it will not let ulti disappear.
