What I think is funny is that people who where bashing on ESO about having bugs and glitches and fixes, and calling people who say its normal fanboys, are now the ones defending Wildstar and saying give it time.

Rapid Gear Decay, Expensive Respec and a 1-5 bar. I will not enjoy any game based on this model. Keep you poor forever and unable to experiment with your build, restrict all of your build to 5 abilities.

This game is a joke, a bad joke and its dead. If you aren't in "The Dev-Pet Guild" then you probably aren't going to get much farther ahead. I wonder how many members of the Dev Pets were able to keep their hundreds of duped items.

Oh its the Game is dying thread, love these as i get a kick out
of all the reasons it's dying. And how ppl know all the reasons why cause
they be OP in this area of reason. :p
When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."

I can't ever remember playing a new mmo, where after a few weeks people were ringing the bells of doom and death for the game. Needless to say all of those games are still here, and seem to be handsomely populated.

The VR zones are empty because few people want them. Many at VR12 now did so by abusing the Anomaly Crystals which ZOS have now destroyed as a means of leveling.

Why did people use those? Because questing in the VR zones is an exercise in utter frustration.

VR zones will kill this game, they're LEVELING content not end-game so if you're unable to progress due to asininely-buffed mobs or simply don't intend to tolerate a 1990s-like grind then you'll have to leave as there's nothing left to do.

+1 i think ESO needs Urgent Changes i raise my last 5 vet lvl grinding becouse i cant see any more quest in front of me its so TEDIUS. pvp its a joke to gain xp and alwwaysempy or it lag

Warhammer Online was dying ..for 5 years ..then it finally got put down for good but I enjoyed the hell out of that game. ESO is only a couple of months old and has a long way to go even if it is "dying" I hope to enjoy it for a good long time.

I am not sure, seems to me that a lot of the public dungeons are a lot less crowded, in fact I ran one last night that I did not see another person in.

Then I go into a bank and I think "this must be where everyone is hanging out."

Maybe it is just BOT pops that are down, could be that people are now spread out a lot more so it just seems like pops are down. I don't think we will know for sure unless they give us solid numbers and I doubt they will do that.

One last comment even if pops are down that does not mean the game is dying.

Even if it was, I don't care. I play this game to enjoy myself. I don't care about others playing or not.

    So why play an MMO???

Another "The three month old game is dying" thread. Since some clearly do not know how MMOs work, I'll fill them in; You see when an MMO is being developed, especially of the ES calibur, there tends to be a lot of "Hype". At release there will usually be an overwhelming amount of players. As with any MMO, after 2 - 3 months the player base starts to dwindle and "even out".

For most to thoroughly enjoy ESO, they need to be into the lore aspect. The lore in ESO (or any ES title) is unrivaled. If one does not care for lore and likes to rush along, then there are other MMOs better suited for those types of players. MMOs where combat is more streamlined and appealing and where there aren't so many bugs. Where it's encouraged to rush to endgame as quickly as possible because well... there isn't a whole lot in between. With ESO this isn't the case.

    Kind Regards,
    David

Personally, I like it when there are fewer around, because then my wife and I can cooperatively quest without others messing around on my lawn.

Heck, if we could cooperatively play Oblivion or Skyrim, we'd likely have never bought and subscribed to ESO.

I dont care if the game is dying or not. I keep on playing anyway as long as I find it fun. As I see it, and this is my personal opinion based on what I have experienced so far, really lots of people seems to have left the game anyway or at least not resubbed, droves of people not been on for 15 days+ in all the guilds I am in. We´ll see how it goes. (EU player)

Think of VR zones as a shredder, or a cliff, or a roach motel. People hit 'em, and aren't seen again. The newbie zones are busy as new users start, or those who dipped their feet into VR decide to just re-roll. But we're seeing the loss of the hard core players that sped through. We will see a constant depletion as players level and march into the sea that is VR play.

Just hope the new players, and re-rollers, match the upper-level exodus until they get a real end game solution.

So many LOL's so little time! I'm VR 6 right now and I'm having the time of my life in the VR zones! Good PUG's even! I seriously doubt we're going to miss the ADD crowd that chewed up the content and spit it out in a week! They were never going to stay with this, or any other MMO that wasn't Oooo Sparkly 24/7! <Squirrell!!> See! There goes another one!

You'll know a game is dying when the bot runners abandon ship. If they don't think they'll turn a profit from a game, it's a pretty good idea that the game isn't making a profit for the devs :p

Or maybe the player base just don't think game items are worth real world money. There are several successful MMO's without bots.

It's hella soon to be watching this hype drop off this steeply for a AAA title like ESO. You know this, whether you want to admit it or not. This isn't a decade earlier where they're revolutionizing the genre. There are older titles out there that have set the standard, and any new mmo coming out not only has to meet those, they have to exceed them to maintain a player base. You can see that they are trying and scrambling now. They know they released the game early. It's obvious as to why they did that. Too many titles are going to be dropping and they needed market share to be remotely competitive.

But when you release a AAA title with stale, linear content, you're going to suffer indifference and back lash. People are crying out because they do love the title. They want to see the game succeed but there isn't much in the way of rewards for them to stay engaged.

Number of subscribers and players online are two different things. The Craglorn patch messed a lot of stuff up and WS came out. There was a noticeable dropoff. The patch a week or so ago seemed to improve things and you started seeing more players again. Wabbajack on NA was packed this last weekend.

50 of us from a 10 year old gaming community started ESO together, all but 8 of us have quit, and those 8 are suffering daily lag, 301 errors, random disconnects etc and getting less happy every day. Draw whatever conclusions you want from that.

Your personal experience does not equate to everyone else's so stop with the subjective bs. This game has minimum specs to be able to run the software. The fact that it isn't compatible with a lot of rigs means that the company didn't test properly and needs to either fix those core compatibility issues or rescind their specifications. While I haven't had the issues that a lot of people have had because I do have a February purchased mid range CyberpowerPC gaming unit, I have had combat lag, quest bugs, and for a while in the beginning, constant disconnects. Whether you want to acknowledge that some of the issues are server side or not, they've already admitted to it for a lot of these issues.
Also, you must have a very limited mmo experience to make broad generalizations. Especially, when EVE Online, Ultima Online, Everquest, Neverwinter, and FFXI have been out for 9+ years.
