The game simply won't load. I've never had a problem with the game and I have been playing since Beta. Since yesterday the Launcher loads fine but when I click play it does nothing. I click it multiple times at once and it greys out for a second and goes back to green again. I've read and followed all the fixes online, and non of it works. I've been doing absolutely everything to trying to get this thing to work. I've uninstalled it and reinstalled. Updated from start too finnish. I even went into all my computer repair utilitys to see if my computer was missing files or had errors. I disabled my anti virus and firewall. I've edited the usersettings file and everything. Just as the customer support told me too do and Nothing works! I've been sitting here for 14 hours trying to fix this thing.

I have 6 other games on this pc that are still in alpha stage on my steam and they all at least load the .exe properly. Its just ESO. Is this game still in beta stage or something?

Try to put in a support ticket ASAP (if you haven't already). Secondly, don't ever disable antivirus and firewall. You can make an exception manually for ESO (use google to learn how with your software) but never disable them. That could potentially let viruses enter your computer.

Also, try uninstalling it completely? I read through everything you said, and you never mentioned uninstall..

    Hello @trash656,

We are sorry to hear that you encounter problems with the game.

First, you should make sure that everything is up-to-date on your computer (DirectX, Drivers, OS updates).

You should also verify that the game is launched as administrator (By right clicking the launcher and selecting "Run as Administrator".)

If these basic steps do not work, can you attach a Game Consultant File to the thread so that we can look further into what causes this issue ?

I didn't know games had feelings. If your offended by my post, that wasn't my intention at all my friend. I was asking if this game was still in beta because I have other games that are still in alpha stage that I'm playing and they all load properly. It was a serious question. Not one I was asking to be sarcastic or anything. I guess thats why I'de rather talk in person then over the internet because things get taken out of context sometimes. No worry's we have all done it before! Cheers! ^_^

    @Xilc
Thanks very much my friend. Yes reinstalling completely again. How do I put in a support ticket through the website if I have further problems because it seems there isn't much information on this problem on the website itself.

    Cheers!

thank you Robinson its very kind of you to reply. Yes I attach the game consultant file and will make sure it's running correctly after I re-install it here. I'm just updating the game and downloading all the patchs. ^_^

    Cheers and thank you!

Glad I could be of some help to you. I had an issue previously with my install so I just reinstalled from scratch and it fixed it. These things happen, and they suck, but they're easy fixes :)

Have you tried applying a system restore to a position before the game stopped working?

Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

Would only work if a restore point was created during a time in which the game worked, and if the game is installed in a system folder, as opposed to a user folder, which can happen if you use a machine other people use and don't want them messing with the game files.

I just want to personally thank you all for your helpful replies and suggestions. After a day and a half of fiddling around. I finally got the game to run again on my own. It seems there is some issues with Windows 7, and the game still, regarding the cache and temporary files within the games directory folder. As with all mmorpgs. I expected many bugs with this game, Bugs and glitches don't bother me because I've been gaming so long I already expect major things to happen.

But I really have to stress and say I really feel this game is still in beta stage. I notice that a lot of the zones within the game are not finished either on the map, making me believe those will be added in later on. I understand this whole project was very large with a lot of resources put into it, and now a days it's the norm for games to be released very early on because of financial and corporate deadlines.

That being said I really enjoy ESO and the community here, thank you again for being so helpful and mature with all this. In other MMORPG's I've asked for help on the forums and I usually end up getting flamed at for no apparent reason.

Much love from Canada to all my fellow ESO Fans.

    Cheers,
