Zenimax looks on while bots run the game

Tried Wildstar beta, didn't like it. The combat was interesting, but the game just felt mehish. And the UI was the worst for someone that like it minimalistic. I HATE, despise, loath and all that, a UI that flashes like Final Fantasy went wild on your screen. And having to see - and hear - Level up now go kick some, will grow weary very quickly. So no, you won't be seeing me in Wildstar and it's not an awesome game at least not for me. It's just another "trying to be as popular like WoW by being a copy of WoW". No thank you.

And Zenimax is working against the bots, like every other MMO company currently are. People make it up like ESO is unique, the cream de la cream of MMOs with bots running wild. Fact is, every MMO out there struggles from it. It's not as easy as people think getting rid of the bots. As per today, the only way to get them out is to be there in game and remove them as you see them. It's cumbersome, difficult and not very effective as you can't be on 2 places at the same time, and those banned are back in business within hours. As I've said countless times before on this subject; if someone here figures a 100% guaranteed way that eliminates the bot problem, they win the Noble price of Interwebs.

So every other MMO developer has just been holding back on the real solution?

You'd think after over a decade people would understand how bot prevention actually works.

Sure, since every MMO developer is in regular exchange with all the others for trading their mechanics and to help each other to make the games better, you would think that everybody knows.

Right. So what you're saying is that if developers worked together, they'd have the solution now? Or is some magical developer holding out on the rest of the world?

We might see bots in WildStar, we might not. One thing for certain, ZOS has a backup plan to make money - PS4 and XboxOne release for Elder Bots, WildStar has only a PC version and cannot afford to $hit on & ignore it PC customers.

No, you'll 100% see bots in Wildstar - and lots of them. Who cares if they can afford to *** on customers? Like most MMOs, you're going to have a guaranteed core base that will bend over regardless. That's NCSoft's modus operandi.

Oh well... report the bots... and report the guy chasing them for having a name that's trademarked ? :D

The sad thing, is they would actually take the time out of their busy day to force me to change my name. They already did it to my forum name. It was Daft Punk as well.

You would think they would have more important things to do, like deal with the bots, but no.

As I have stated, the bots own this game now.

    ZOS is just the facilitator.

There "will" be bots in Wildstar... and we'll have fewer in ESO once that game launches as the botters all flock there to make money of people wanting a fast headstart...

It's always people that want a quick leg up that keep botters and goldsellers in bussiness... People willing to stick at it and gather their own stuff slowly keep games alive.

    I prefer the second...

The statement "if you put enough monkeys behind enough typewriters... sooner or later one will produce the works of Shakespeare" has sadly been proven utterly wrong by the internet...

I will see you gents in Wildstar. Which is an amazingly fun game by the way.

Different people see different things as fun. ESO is a totally different game to WS and for me as an old school Vanilla fan I agree that WS could be fun, but only for that specific type of player that loves long grinds, repetitive dungeon crawling and premade content.

The raid and dungeon content is much harder than anything WoW released in the past few years since TBC with LK as exception. Besides that you need a 40 men raid to get specific quest lines unlocked and only there you get the top loot.

Besides that you must grind quests and mobs for 6 full months to unlock all abilities and perks of your Char, which you buy for points - similar to Valor in WoW.

For me as someone with RL this isn't doable, but if you manage then hey have fun ;)

One thing however, WS has issue´s just like ESO does. The performance in regards of multi threading is very bad, several zones have memory leaks and bots? They will come, especially since you can buy subs with the in game currency.

I wish people would just accept that there are different types of MMO´s, that attitude that an MMO is bad just because it doesn't suit you is silly and childish.

Maybe. The chances to get to a solution when companys would work together on those things wouldn't decrease, would they?

Fact is: there are companys that are handling the bot problem way better than Zenimax and they don't tell the other companys how they do it (I don't know why either). So yes, these may be the "magical developers" you are referring to.
