My weirdes one was in cyrodil, I and four others was ganking on the road from enemy keep to an friendly keep under siege.
Tactic pretty standard: hide and take out single players or small groups and let the larger ones pass.
One of us got killed and I went to res, huge group of more than 30 was passing nearby so I sneaked, suddenly the changed direction and ride straight over me.
I thought that I was very dead and asked for somebody to come and res us, however they rode over me and passed, sorcerer in light armor so not much sneak bonus except the Khajiit one.
That probably saved me was that I was sneaking next to an dead player so they saw him and then I popped up they was past before they could react.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I survived a lot in this game.

Last year I saw people saying it was going to be Dead on Arival-I survived that

Then they said it was going to die within 6 months-Survived that

Then People said Wildstar was going to kill the entire game!- Survived that

Then saw people saying ArcheAge was going to kill the game- Survived that

Then saw people saying Warlords of Draenor was going to kill everything-
    Survived that

Most likely, there were two sorcs and they bolted away at the same time in opposite directions.

The DK ability to split and chase multiple runners to ensure there are no survivors isn't scheduled to go live until 1.6.

OK, well, found a great pick up group today for starting my Templar on the Craglorn quests. Some folks had to go after completing about 4 or 5, so we decided to end on Supreme Power. Defeated the last boss. Group disbanded.

Then I noticed I still needed to speak to someone, and after I did it sent me back to the boss. Using a few spell power pots as a Templar I was able to actually defeat the boss with her adds even though I routinely dropped to under 20% and even 10% health throughout the fight.

Several very close calls with the boss at a sliver of health but finally the notice popped up and she slumped to the ground.

    Hey everyone!

This is my 1000th post on this account, so I wanted to do something fun with it. I thought I'd hop on this discussion and post a story about a time I survived the odds.

I remember the first time I cleared the Aetherian Archive with a group of random folks in Craglorn. We had spent a decent amount of time wiping on the Wispmother boss and finally cleared her with about 8 revives remaining to take on the Mage.

We got to the Mage and the first phases of the fight went perfectly, but the final 30% burn phase started going south when she reached about 5%. People started dying left and right, and in the end, it was just me and the mage.

Staring in the face of certain defeat, I continued DPSing furiously and managed to defeat her. Probably the most epic achievement I have in my journal at the moment. I wear that dye proudly :D.

This is the first post from a ZOS employee that I have personally seen where they admitted to actually playing the game! I am floored! Not saying there haven't been more, just saying this is the first one I've seen. I've seen literally hundreds of posts by players complaining that you guys don't play your own game! Now I can point to this post and say Nu Uh!

My group and I, we were doing a VR dungeon. Can't remember the name, but the end boss was the crazy architect.

And there is one flesh atronach boss, who sets the entire area on fire. We've lost several times and at 1 point, I was the last on standing and it was only me and my Clannfear. My Clannfear tanked him and I've been healing it and dealing damage and managed to revive my allies later on.

This was definately the most epic moment for me.

Back when i was still V1 with my Sorcerer and before the cost-increase of Bolt Escape, i was alone near Fort Ash and saw a Player whom i thought i could defeat.
Once we started to fight i got ambushed by 2 Nightblades who didn't crit so i thought i should better escape since those guys are all at higher Veteran-Ranks than i am.

So i bolt escaped away and realized i attacked a member of a 24-man group and seem to have made them very angry.

I bolt-escaped all the way to Glademist with magickapotions on cooldown, dark exchange everytime i could and sprinting, and everytime i looked back i saw this angry zerg following me on horseback.

I hid behind a rock and waited until the first of them passed by to use Soul Assault on him and after he died i was finally able to sneak without being visible to the angry group that chased me from one keep to the next.

That sounds like Vaults of Madness, with the boss who has these zig-zagging lines of fire that chase you all over a platform.

I had a similar moment last year when I was leveling up my Templar healer.

On a previous character I was in non-vet Darkshade with a pickup group and we were ambushed by a mini-boss and only the healer survived, who proceeded to spend 2-3 minutes soloing the thing. Someone joked that it was time to reroll as a healer.

So flash forward to me playing with a pug as a healer in Arx Corinium at the boss with the pet. The one where she gives a warning to allow the pet to get to safety inside a magic bubble. I ended up being the only one left alive after the others didn't make it to the safety bubble in time. I was going to just die to let the others respawn and restart the fight but I recalled what had happened at Darkshade and decided to try to learn more about my new class and role by seeing how far I could get with the fight. I had what I would now think is a terrible bar, gear, and rotation, even by the standards of the time.

I was doing OK, not great, but got too bold/was low health and when the boss called out the warning I was sure I wouldn't make it to the bubble in time. Except that I practically stumbled into it by a fortunate dodge-roll and lucky placement of the bubble, giving me time to heal and finish the fight. I didn't survive by skill, just luck, but someone in the group still suggested that it was time to re-roll as a healer. I wonder if one of them did indeed do so and repeated the cycle again...

I think my greatest story of survival occurred on Bleakers. An entire blob of EP was surrounding my Dragonknight, the healer with me was in the corner healing me furiously as I did everything I could to keep my batswarm up and not die. We were waiting for reinforcements, and were the only two there; it was up to us to keep EP distracted. And distracted they were. I popped off 10+ batswarms, my health fell to deadly levels, but a heal burst would push me back, and a batswarm would feed me. Eventually DC showed up and ran through all the EP focusing on me.

Was probably the most intense event ever to happen to me in PvP and left me standing there a little amazed. Remember everyone: love your healers.

I've had some crazy close calls where cloak and many other skills saved my donkey but I enjoy it more when I come around a corner or similar and a fellow teammate is getting whipped up on and we end up turning the tables after a long hard fought battle and pull out the big V. Those don't happen much bet when they do, it makes the game well worth the play for that day...

Have a story of your character surviving against what seems like certain death? This can be AvA in Cyrodiil or PvE in your alliance campaign.

There have been a number of battles where I have had 100 or less health at the end when the boss dies. Those are always fun in the final moments. Who will get in the last hit?

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I was exploring around Tamriel, and as I was looking at something high on a cliff, I slipped off.

As I readied myself to hit E to res at a wayshrine, my character gently landed at the bottom of the ravine with a light ... poof.

Somehow when I fell, I slid down the rockface instead of jumping off it, so I took no damage.

Needless to say I was amazed.

This was my nearest dead experience.

We were fighting The Warrior on HRC and he did his cleave and killed like half of our group in one shot. I was the only main healer left and we reached his deadly rain of stars or whatever the name is, can't remember now, and I spammed my healing spring like there was no tomorrow. I solely overhealed its damage by myself and then the half of the group executed the c**p out of him.

    Good times.

So, you can see that with one healer you can go through that phase with no problem.

    Cheers!!!

I can't even say how many close encounters I've had, namely in PvE, when my group has wiped and I'm the only one facing down a dungeon boss. Health slowly but surely depleting as I keep getting attacked, stamina draining with every dodge and block I take to survive just a little bit longer, magicka reaching dangerously low levels as I keep casting protective shields and eventually not enough to cast a quick healing springs. Then I'm looking into the eyes of Bogdan or Maw of the Infernal or Vila Theran or even the Mage Celestial herself, with my resources all but depleted. My sorceress takes a quick sip of a potion to last just a couple seconds more and then she starts calling down an Endless Fury until the enemy is dead. Then I get up and get a drink because that was stressful and exhilirating. Nobody wants to redo any of those bosses.

Hahaha, not an epic survival moment (I hope to have another one soon, and remember to share it!) but I was in Cyrodiil and a farming blob was "coming right for us". Rather than run away I ran into to spamming heals, took about 1.5x my total HP in damage (healing srpings healing springs healing springs) and survived. Take *that* AP farmers
