Quitting until the billing issue is resolved

GlassToTheArson
Let me start by saying that I thoroughly enjoy this game. I really do. I have not had many problems with bots and overall, have had a great time. That being said. I refuse to give my new card information to ZOS until this billing crap is fixed. I have a very fixed income as a student and CANNOT afford multiple charges and holds on my account. As sad as it is to say, until this is fixed, I'm done.

ZOS clearly has absolutely no idea what they're doing with this game and if they don't nip these issues in the bud quickly, I can see this game going down as one of the most disastrous, catastrophic MMO launches ever.

Get your crap together ZOS, before you lose your game. You're already losing subscribers.

EDIT: Resubbed last night with my girlfriends card after she gave me the go ahead, and sure enough, her account got hit twice.

I just used my final game-time to say goodbye to guild and friends. I met some people here that I find worth knowing.

Before I have to go back to work again - a vacation that ZOS made sure to screw up - I'll go some GW2.
Why? Because its free. I have no cash to pay for anything atm. All of it is blocked for 45 days. Because I was dum enough to try to re-sub several times in a row.

I'll visit forums in a year maybe. Read how you guys feel about that manure pile of a game. If it is still fermenting, I won't bother.

But I realy wish it settles down. And I realy wish it didn't happen that way.

I also wish to say goodbye to the Forum comunity o/

    PS
Only thing left to look out for is ghost automatic re-subing when some of my cash gets released after a month.
  • GlassToTheArson
Yeah I think I'm going back to the Old Republic. I wanted this game to be my new thing. I wanted it to be so badly, but this crap is just unacceptable.

I refuse to continue supporting a company who clearly cares nothing for their customers.

There are no forums posts, no news releases, nothing. Nothing to say " We're sorry for all of this, please give us some time to fix everything, we're working our hardest to ensure that all of your money is returned to you and that the game is brought up to par with what it should be.

Instead we get silence and inaction.

Maybe you get silence because good bye threads are against ToS.
  • GlassToTheArson
    MAYBE! :D
  • GlassToTheArson
They're probably against the ToS because they knew something like this would happen and they don't want anyone inspiring others to take a stand against this crap and leave.

Hey there, @GlassToTheArson‌. Setting up a new subscription or changing your payment method causes our system to perform an authorization check. When this happens, you'll see both the authorization check and the subscription on you account, but only the funds for the subscription will fully go through.

We do plan to lower the authorization fee, but in the meantime, you may want to set up your subscription using a game time card. They are available at participating retailers. We understand that this can be frustrating, and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

This is the only MMO I've ever played where buying a game time card is pretty much required in order to get functional billing / crediting to the account. To be honest, the authorization check would be much less onerous if it cleared after a shorter period of time. To add insult to injury, it's also clearly ineffective against botters and the like. It only seems to affect actual players, and there's plenty of people who've been hit with double billing, inability to log in, and pre-auths not clearing for weeks. It may eventually clear up, but in the short-term it is an effective double-billing for which many were unprepared.

    It's unacceptable.

Wanna chime in, the Game Cards are in at Walmarts now. Got one this morning at my rinky-*** wally-world and it does go through really easy and shows up on account in like a min.

Awesome! Thanks for the heads up!

It really is sad that this is what we have to resort to to play the game we all spent $60+ on.

I'll keep saying it, I love the game, but at this point in time, I'm incredibly disappointed.
  • Mister_Crowley
These billing issues so many are having is a hot mess. Zenimax needs look into their processes. Game cards are a work-around, but it doesn't take a genius to see this as a deal-breaker for many.

I honestly can't believe they're not even acknowledging the problem as a problem the size that it is. They're treating this as if it's some little glitch here and there

Well I'm guessing that on one of my sleep walking episodes I set their charge policies because I know I didn't do it while I was awake because I would have remembered that. Because I spent most of tonight at work having an email conversation with CS and they assures me that they did nothing wrong. I don't have my money I can't play. The fact that CS says that this situation is not their fault in sinuates that it is my fault. I am sure that tomorrow or Monday or whenever the rep I was talking to gets back to work they will continue the discussion with me. However I still not have my money back and still will not be able to play. The sad part is that I offered a reasonable compromise to the situation and then the emails went silent. I assume its because CS was done for the day and not the fact they figure its best to ignore problems and customer complaints.

Seems that ZoS is getting really good at burying their heads in the sand. Hell, look at these very forums. Troll/goodbye threads get locked almost instantly, but the vast majority of legitimate requests for help go unanswered. Even if the CS reps monitoring the forums aren't able to deal with certain problems directly, they can AT LEAST acknowledge that they're aware of the issue and pass it up the chain, since we all know for a fact that they're reading everything we type here.

I've personally never seen a $200,000,000 MMO have such a massive amount of problems, both in-game and out. I've cancelled my sub, I'll try to play out my remaining time and hope that these issues get fixed eventually, but I'm really not expecting much.

Same boat for me. I'm going to play out the rest of my month and if this crap is still a problem then I'm done until it's not. I will not support a company that doesn't care about it's customers.

I don't know why are they more concerned with his changing the layout of their mobile forms in there other forms instead of taking care of the issues that should be fixed?

I am glad he is staying. Thread is titled as a quit thread. The subject until edited is an I quit subject. Just because it is a bit on the fluffy side doesn't mean it should stay open. TOS is the TOS.

You might want to read this, before you freak out about "extra charges". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Authorization_hold

Just FYI, there is a gas station right by where I used to work that puts a $75 authorization hold on your account if you use your card at the pump. After 3 business days, that charge drops off and is replaced by one for the actual amount. That was a big deal to me at one point about 4 years ago when I was really low on money. But it's how credit/debit cards work. Especially since I have a hybrid and even with today's gas prices I rarely spend more than $15 even if I'm on empty.

You don't seem to understand. Any adult who's ever used a card knows about authorization holds, and normal holds aren't a problem. The problem here is the fact that some accounts are experiencing holds that won't clear for weeks, some accounts getting charged double (as if paying for two subs instead of just one), among other problems.

Just FYI, you'd be up in arms too if that $75 authorization hold was on your account for 3 weeks instead of 3 days, and once it clears you realize that the $15 fill-up was actually a $30 fill-up.

could you imagine buying something on Amazon for $20 for me to find out your bill 40 but Amazon asure you that you'll get the $20 back eventually

There's only ever one or the other, though - there isn't an authorization hold and the real charge and the auth hold lasts for weeks on end.

Why does it show 2 payments going to you when I log into my paypal account then? I have started 2 threads regarding this issue and both have been closed and I've received a warning for spamming the forums by pm. I have supplied the info required by email and I have not heard back from support since my initial email reply on May 16.
