As the thread title says, bots have started coming back in Glenumbra, and are already multiplying (as they are known to do) rather quickly.

Any chance something could be done quickly?
There's bots farming mobs, the usual /zone chat gold-spamming bots and also a few flying bots have been spotted, no-clipping through the level geometry.

Well if you really try and design the entire game around them . . .

There is one out of the box solution, that sprung to mind yesterday

Because the goldfarmers will always go for the easiest and most lazy way to earn gold.

Put something in the game that normal players do not need, but sells for a lot to the vendor,
That way the bots will all go for it, normal players will not find it anywhere and still not miss it.

And then put all the bots who harvest said material in a few quarantine zones, so no one can see them.

That balances out the whole game, the goldsellers are happy and so are we, the normal players.

I recently had some level 7 and 10 players join our guild and they did not know how to get iron, when i started playing in march the iron nodes were everywhere.

So maybe it is time to think outside the box :-)

Slager, Dunmer Magica DK, DC EU, pvp
Farmer, Dunmer Magica DK, AD EU, trials build

Every major patch looks like the end of the world but somehow i just cannot stop playing.

Well, they are really back in force, with plenty of flying and burrowing gatherer-bots, bots running circles killing mobs over and over and occasionally breaking the pattern to drop items on other bots that teleport next to vendors.

Needless to say, resource nodes have quickly disappeared in the last hour.

Any official word on this, or is Zenimax taking a page out of the bots' manual and burrowing their heads under the ground again?

oh, and here's another screenshot while I'm at it. Enjoy

Bots have been spotted back in Windhelm, too.
Do note the one evidenced in red, flying away, clipping through geometry like it's not there:

If you wipe the bots player base is cut in 1/2

A bot is not a player.

Rather customer base, than player base.

More like 75% - 50% bots and 25% people that won't play if they can't buy gold from the botters. The PROBLEM are people buying the gold, either ban them and live with reduced subs or live with the bots.

Just revert the game to where you have to go through coldharbour and complete the starter island quests to be allowed on the mainlands.

Then it takes an hour or more for a human operator to get one bot into the mainland and it will cut the number of bots to a small fraction of the current.

Also when you create an account you will have to answer random questions in the language of the card owner before being allowed to create the account. I guess a chinese bot operator will find it hard to answer questions in Serbian, if they refer to local issues.
