I have a support ticket in about this issue, but so far all the responses have had nothing to do with my situation, so I thought I would try here and see if anyone knows of a solution. Or maybe I'll get the attention of someone at ZOS that can help.

Starting yesterday, I've been unable to use the chat system and the mail system. I am able to see everything like normal, such as other people's /z /s /g1 etc and whispers, and I can see my own responses in all the same channels. However, no one else is able to see what I'm saying.

For instance, if someone whispers me, and I reply, I can see the entire conversation. Although its not a conversation, because it just turns into people assuming I'm afk because I "don't" respond.

Mail is a similar situation, I receive mail just fine, both COD and not COD, however when I try to send my own mail, nothing happens.

Honestly, it feels like someone did /mute or /muzzle on my account. And ZOS' lack of helpful response is somewhat disheartening. Anyways, has something like this happened to anyone else? If so, were you able to fix it?


Update: Besides the aforementioned chat and mail problems, I've found two other broken systems that I'm guessing are related.

First, I'm unable to trade anyone. If I try to initiate a trade I get a "Trade Failed" error. If someone else initiates I am able to accept it, but immediately get the the same message.

Second, I have no access to any guild store or bank. Note, I'm still in all my guilds, can see guild chat, and can see other things like the roster.

    I have the same problem. You are not alone. The support team didn't even bother to respond to my last e-mail. I am on my fourth day of this issue. I have no hope that it will be fixed soon.

    Well, tbh I'm glad it's not just me. An isolated incident would be much less likely to get a fix.

    Hopefully they'll come up with a solution soon.

    I had a very nice GM Nuri contact me, however apparently a solution couldn't be found today. If a fix becomes available, please let me know ^^

    As some who modded the hell out of Oblivion and Skyrim, that was my first thought. Unfortunately, even with 0 addons I'm still unable to talk.

    I don't know if they sent you the e-mail about being contacted but I am still waiting myself. Apparently we are the victims of a shoot first ask questions later auto muter. If I reach a week for this problem I'll probably just cancel my account and maybe pick it back up on Xbox One in half a year. You burn through everything pretty fast when you can't talk to anyone.

    I received an email on Saturday saying my ticket was being escalated, and nothing since. I hope they fix this soon, MMO's aren't very fun when you can't talk to other people.

    I'm told by others experiencing this issue that it's due to you either refining a large amount of items, or an addon that gives you feedback too often. Apparently the auto-muter counts any feedback from in-game stuff as if it were viewable zone-wide. It's the silliest thing I've ever heard of.

    Well, I do refine a ton of items. Seriously, a lot, I spam /z for them all day. If that's the case, are they intentionally leaving me muted or have they have just failed at unmuting me for almost a week now?
