vampire respec warning

Just found out from another thread that if you stop being a vampire, you cant use respec to get those skill points back, you have to respec before seeing the priest

or else you will have to go through a painful process again, and maybe lose a huge amount of gold believing otherwise:

that will be a huge mistake many probably will be doing, I would had been one of them if it weren't for that thread, I would think it would be possible to get all skill points back if you resepc no matter what condition you are in vampire/werewolf and so on.

this is going to become a problem in the future, when people realize they didn't for the first get them back during the transition back to normal, then they will try to respec using gold, and get unlucky yet again seeing they didn't actually get the skill points they wanted back.

then they have to become a vampire again, earn gold and buy yet another respec using hard earned gold.

My guess some would actually leave the game if this aint fixed to at least they get them back when they respec in what ever from

Im happy I read the forums, so when ever I decide not to be a vampire again, ill know to respec before seeing a priest

@ZOS_GinaBruno Can you confirm if this is still true or not? If you cure Vamp before respeccing, are you unable to get those points back by respeccing after? or will being bitten again, and then finishing quest, becoming a vamp, and then respeccing before curing a second time, give you those skill points? or are they gone forever?

I cured a V10 vamp a month ago. I did not respec before the cure. After I was cured I went and did the respec and I did get my points back. Would be nice for Gina to confirm to ensure nothing has changed.

    Hey folks!

If you are a vampire and get cured, skillpoints that you have allocated to the vampire (or werewolf) skill lines remain in those abilities. Upon respec, those points should be distributed back into your skillpoint total. You should not need to respec before getting cured.

There was a bug reported early on in the game that prevented those skill points from properly allocating to your total, but that was resolved. Thanks!

    Nope, sorry Molly.

Even on pc version a respec is still required before curing vampirism or werewolfurriness.

Why would those skill points remain in a line that you no longer have access to? This seems like something that should just refunded when you get cured.

You will always get the skillpoints back. It's just difficult to keep track because you don't see your overall points. You just don't see if the points are still stuck in the skill line, because it disappears completely.

If you want to be 100% sure do this:

    1. Be a vampire / werewolf
    2. Do a respec and note how many points you have
    3. Spent the skill points in vampire / werewolf tree
    4. Cure vampirism / werewolf
    5. Do a respec again
    6. Note that you will have all your skill points back

The skill points will stay in the skill tree until you do a respec. If that's a good design or not...well that's another thing.
