Looks great! but after what i have seen experienced and read here in the comments the dungeon grouping tool needs more upgrades and needs more tweaking but it's a new mmo and these things take time Rome wasn't built in a day! Thank you

There is currently only two classes in this game, DK and Sorcs.
Templar's and NB are just 'extras' that have not been removed yet.

    I like it

The times I've used the grouping tool it works just nicely. Sometimes I had to wait a few mins but mostly I get a group pretty fast. Maybe because I am a tank?

Groups been good and bad. Bad I consider when a bloody nightblade (why is it always a nightblade?) takes off during combat to open a chest! I don't care for the loot, its just selfish, rude and stupid, because the group could wipe for someones greed.

However, I have found a few people I kept in contact with because of how we worked as a team in the group. Some of these new friends are now very good guildmembers of mine =)

I think its VERY important to keep level range on these instances. I do not want to clear a dungeon because a highlvl char was there and soloed everything. That ruins the fun and feeling of achievement for me.

I have not encountered this myself, but heard it from several different sources, that some people signs up as healers, when they obviously is not healers. Not talking about a "bad" player, but someone who simply do not heal.....

I guess others might have simular problems with someone who signs up as a tank but have no clue how to tank in ESO and tanking the "WoW" way?

How to get around this, I don't know and I am sorry if I bring up a problem without suggesting a solution.

I do use the grouping tool, so I can meet new people and if I want to do a specific dungeon and none in my guild or friendlist is avaible atm.

Group finder works reasonably well. But really, grouping in dungeons is a bad joke at this moment. Last night I was trying to group in Volenfell and every time we entered the dungeon one or two members of our group ended up in different phases or couldn't see the NPC's that were needed to start the quest. Some other times we couldn't see each other or any other at all. It was very frustrating.

We exited the dungeon, dropped the quest, disbanded, regrouped, re-entered and still some of us were in different phases. One member decided to do the dungeon without acquiring the quest. We would have not been able to do the quest otherwise.

Group Dungeon phasing is a major problem because the game does not group people in the same group in the same phase, which is dumb and ***.

Hope they fix it in Update 1 - and it is taking too long to come out. I read somewhere that ZOS wanted to release a big patch every month. But this is far from 'every month' right now.

It usually takes hours to assemble a successful group for a dungeon run.

    Contributing factors include:
    - players incorrectly being shown as offline (some members will drop at this point).
    - the inability to share the skill point quest
    - dps queuing as healer/dps or tank/dps, thereby denying the party a tank/healer
    - the group finder sometime just seems to hang thus never filling the group
    - players dropping a group after 5-10 min. to deal with the above

As an example, tonight I experience the following trying to complete Selene's web on my alt.
    - innumerable tries at the group finder that never resulted in a full party (this took up most of the night).
    - 1 party killed because a member found out after the first sub-boss that they didn't have the quest, understandably they left, stranding the party.
    - 3 parties so deficient in one of the roles (tank) that it made completing the instance unworkable (two "bow" tanks and a dual wield tank, none of them with aggro management tools).
    - 1 successful attempt marred by the web not breaking bug in the last encounter (fortunately we found the workaround on the forums, cs also sent the work around to us within 5-10 min, but we had completed the instance by that point).

End result, 6 hours trying to complete one pre-VR dungeon. 5 of those hours spent fighting with the group finder. Most of the rest dealing with broken or soon to be broken parties, and one successful run of around 15-20 min that was marred by a quest bug. This isn't a typical experience, but it's also not an unusual one.

Most attempts it takes 2-4 hours to assemble a successful group for a pre-VR dungeon run. Sometimes 6 hours is insufficient and I'll just have to try the next day.

In comparison, in FFXIV, even many months after launch, I could usually count on completing an instance in around an hour after accessing the group finder. In unusual instances it might take 2-3 hours, but never over 3.

I should add that I started searching for a group to do Selene's at around level 41 (probably a bit late). And by the time I finished Selene's I was level 44 (nearly 45). That leveling was just normal questing, gathering etc... If I continue fairly normal leveling, it's likely I would lose the ability to use the group finder before I was able to complete the 2nd of the three dungeons in the 41-43 level range. This currently necessitates warping my normal game play to accommodate the group finder's level restrictions.

This mismatch between group finders usable level range and leveling speed became apparent in the 30's where my leveling speed picked up again, presumably because my build was functional by that point.

I reached Veteran Rank 1 and now can't find a group to do Vaults of Madness. Been looking for over a week now. This is mostly down to be shut out in the group finding tool.

It wouldn't be so bad if level 50 was an actual level instead of Veteran Rank 1.

Without reading through all the posts on this forum, is an improved LFG tool in the works? Or can someone make a mod for this? Something that allows people to find groups for ALL dungeons, not just those around your immediate level.

It's taking 2-3 hours to find a 4 man group using guilds, zone chat and more. This should be a priority, devs!

My highest character is thirty-eight and I have not done a single dungeon. I was disappointed to discover that I could not go back and do those dungeons I've missed...or I have to wait until veteran levels...and even then, I can only do them once? That...is also disappointing.

I do like the idea of phasing our levels down to the appropriate zone/dungeon levels though. I have seen this work very well...elsewhere.

Thank you for posting this tutorial. I still see people spamming zone chat in Reaper's March. Hopefully this helps them to utilize group finder.

My first guess is you never used the grouping tool to get into a group. The ESO group finder tool is a poorly conceived/implemented tool with extremely limited functionality by design. It pairs incomplete parties together requiring them to either sit around for a long time until the right player(s) queue just right to complete the group. Basically, this mandates players spam zone chat looking for that right player(s) to complete the group.

Unfortunately the case and one that has lead to fewer players even trying the tool and a basic REQUIREMENT that zone chat be used to form groups. To bad more thought was put into making that video linked in the OP vs the thought put into designing the grouping tool.

ESO is really very unfriendly to grouping in general. Limited functionality with the grouping tool and that we cannot make a LFG channel, let alone one that would cross into all zones not to mention that there is no central hub in the game. If one of these worked/worked well there would be some viable options for grouping.
