Do Armor traits still work if broken?

If I have a pair of legs lets say light armor. They have the trait on them "training". Ok so im using them they break, theyre at 0/50 armor rating and red. If I wear these I can still get exp in the light armor skill line. So my question now is, does the trait "training" still grant me the +22% experience on light armor even though the armor piece is broken?

I know that enchantments stop functioning, so I assume traits follow suit.

Thats what I was assuming, but you still gain armor experience in the skill line. So thats why I was wondering in this specific case since it has to do with experience or even in general if the trait of the armor still works.

Exp still works, but the once an armor slot is at zero, no bonus work anymore (enchantment, traits, set bonuses etc)

Yep, not even passives from your armor skill line.
